As we read Linda's book the mist is clearing and we are no longer seeing through a glass darkly.
It now makes sense that Dave prayed the prayer giving his dad to the Lord.
He had lost him anyway. Easy to see how Dave learned to do the stuff he did.
The questions on the strange goings on in the 70's that we all knew about now come into focus.
Sleeping in the basement and going to and from church in separate cars is now easy to understand.
So is the state of all four children.
Bro. Hyles used to say 5 out of 6 is not bad. However zero out of four is a complete failure. 000 avg.

1Tim 5:8  But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

To be fair I think this 0 out of 4 thing is kind of unfair to Cindy. No?
no.

I agree.  Cindy learned to perform and play the game.  She married her dad...a player (by today's vernacular).

Now with the Meatloaf video, it shows we are all working together to pull out all the stops to get Teri on this forum!

For some reason Teri is no longer a Meatloaf fan.  I believe she has moved on to fried chicken.

I'm sure there's more more to this whole story than we'll ever know. I'll admit I have a curiosity about it all. Maybe the result of having watched too many conspiracies and dramas on TV.

I still wonder who knew what and when did they know it? I still contend Eddie is a liar but not very good at it. Sadly I now think the haters may have been right about Bro Hyles back in the day. I wonder what stayed unrevealed because of the guilty plea. (As in who else?) I wonder how the family is coping? Etc, etc

It wasn't a happy day for me when I realized the "haters" may have been the ones with their eyes open all along.

Haters vs. Loyalists.

^^ Absolutely.  And often neither one side nor the other is willing to admit it.

I'm afraid the truth is somewhere in the middle.  The problem is that no one knows where the middle is.

Emotion often clouds perspective disallowing truth to be seen.  This is true of both extreme views.

I've never been guilty of all the "Man Worship" the haters accused us of, but I was guilty of giving a benefit of the doubt to someone with a larger than life persona. (Even with that though it creeped me out the way Bob Gray would quote Dr Hyles as if he was scripture) These recent events have given people in my group doubt as to what was peddled to us in the early 90's. we have gone from "No way!" to "Probably so,..."

Reminds me of the song lyrics, "I'm tired of the men who make the laws and break them any time they please, I'm tired of all the big lies, where are all the good guys,..." ("Build An Ark" for the unlearned)

The term being used often here of "haters" is a bit disingenuous. I certainly don't hate the Hyles family or FBC and I bet a lot of former FBC people feel the same way. We aren't haters just because we chose to follow a different path earlier than most of you. Also, even though I think Jack Hyles did a great disservice to Christianity, the truth is it was hard to dislike him. I now understand it all better but, without going into detail, my life is better because of my former affiliation with FBC, HBHS, and (it pains me to say this) even a little from HAC.

Maybe then you aren't being Refered too when I used the term "hater"

There seemed to be only two groups - loyalists and haters.

...and, FTR, I don't believe Bro. Hyles was the fourth member of the Trinity but neither do I believe he was a fraud, either. The pendulum of history swings first one way, and then another, but the Day will declare it.

I agree wholeheartedly.

So has anyone heard if this is true or just a rumor still?

Looks like Jack will be in Atlanta for the next 10 years. Thats about 650 miles from Dyer. So now I wonder if they are going to stay in the area or move down there. Does anyone know if the divorce thing is true?
