That her "father was a rich man".

This is certainly true and is how she had viewed him as his daughter. They always had plenty of money and the best of everything.

That the buildings belonged to her dad, and "he left them" to FBCH
A classic!

Every day I generally come across one thing really stupid posted on the internet.... Today, it's you.

Are you Linda?

ad hominem comes from a weak argument.
That is a slogan.
It is not a truth.

Exhibit A: sarcasm

In your mind Jack was rich.... Which goes to show how little you know.

"Looming largest, of course, is her perspective that the offerings went to her Dad, and not to deposit, overseen by deacons and a financial secretary..."

Up until Glen Smith died maybe, but as he was the treasurer he was the only deacon that had the availability of the financial records. Mrs. Anderson was a church employee and directly answerable to Bro. Hyles. All accountability was lost when the only elected person died.

You need to come up with some more these are rather dodgy.

I oversaw a budget, and dealt with Mrs. Anderson on a daily basis.
If you had, as well, you would know that she could tell ANYONE "no".

Your ability to hear the words of a person and totally spin it so the actual words that were said really are not what was said answers the question "why are you still at FBCH". You fit right in... Still.

This is directed against me personally, thus Ad hominem.

Ad hominem (Latin for "to the man" or "to the person"[1]), short for argumentum ad hominem, is in which an argument is rebutted by attacking the character, motive, or other attributes of the person making the argument, or persons associated with the argument, rather than attacking the substance of the argument itself.[2]

What I do know is that as a deacon I was not allowed to view the financial records and bank accounts. I do not mean the sanitized budget that Mrs. Anderson kept by hand. I am referring to the multitude of off budget or black budget accounts that were totally off limits to the deacons.

None of which contained monies collected on the public services.

It would be nearly impossible after all the time that has passed to prove that either way.
The point was we did not know and were not permitted to find out.
How can you prove now that no monies from offerings went into black budgets?

One Saturday night after Glen died some of us suggested that we have an audit of all church accounts, on budget and off budget, as it had been a couple of years since we had had one.
Bro. Hyles pointed to the back door of the Adams chapel and said, "If you do that I am resigning and walking out that door and never coming back and you'll have to come up with the money".
We never brought it up again until he died.

I thought Mrs. Hyles was a lovely and gracious woman.

It would make me very happy if I could believe that her husband was faithful to her.  In my opinion, there are too many people, including their daughter, who have nothing to gain by telling their stories.

I watched their daughter's video a couple of year's ago.  We actually had a thread about it.  She told several obvious bold face lies.  She lost total credibility at that time.

Bold face lies according to who? You?

Well, hopefully you have read the last few pages of posts.  If you can't figure out the answer to your question above there is no hope for you.

I think that may be lies from your perspective. I watched the video, as well; however, I'll not continue on this topic. I find that most people hear what they want to hear.

If you can watch that video and not hear the obvious lies which have been detailed in the last few pages of this thread, you want to believe her garbage.

And me

Are they lies or embellishments such as preachers use while they are preaching?

Since there are several it should be no problem to name just three.

Lie 1.

Lie 2.

Lie 3.

Who is going to go first?

Sorry that the boys gave you more than your requested 3.  Any other questions?

That is probably how it seemed to her. I will give you that as an untruth the church corporation owned all the buildings.

You've got to be kidding me!  Do you actually believe that this grown woman believes that her dad owned all the buildings.  Get your head out of the sand!!

That her father had 50,000 tithing members :)

The figure of over 100,000 members comes to mind. That was in the day we were counting everything and everybody as a member.

Did you not read what his daughter said.  She said there were 50,000 tithing members.  Even you have to realize that is a bold face lie.

These are spot on bold face lies told by a woman who is looking to gain financially.
