Any FFFrs Visit This Church Before?

Probably. What is the term for those who take vows of poverty and are very spartan in everything they do?
minimalists.... .. but i have discovered that in most cases that;s no less a facade than the people who put on airs and pretend to be richer or more better off than they are..... ... in truth most of the "minimalists" i know have huge bank accounts and are rich in investments..... ... either style whether a show of money... living spartan... or putting on a rags for effect... it;s all a show with intent to impress somebody... it just depends on who the somebody is they are trying to impress..... . .

It was noticeably dark when entering. The sanctuary was elegant and rays of light shining in, throughout. The lighting was well done and consistent. Easy to read the hymnals.

I was wearing blue jeans and a nice collared shirt. Definitely not dressed as nicely as most, but felt welcome!

Very nice church. We are visiting churches between Orlando and Tampa as were are here quite often.
I am used to dressing somewhat casual for church. I typically wear jeans, a nice collared shirt, dress shoes, and a blazer if it is a little cold outside. I hardly ever wear a tie but when I do, it is in addition to the afforementioned manner of dress.

We sometimes visit reformed congregations when out traveling about and there are times when my wife and I find ourselves underdressed although we are not looked down upon. In one particular church, all of the men were wearing suits and ties although it was quite obvious that for some, it was not something they were used to. One guy had his tie all messed up and halfway out of his collar and you would think he would have seen it in a mirror and corrected it or (quite obviously) his wife would've done so! My wife is all over me about stuff like this which keeps me from looking like a clown out in public! 🤣

those black books in the pew racks are bibles.. ..(i changed the gamma resolution in color sync utility so i could read the cover).... i am assuming the red one is a song book..... . it;s encouraging to see that although i am one of those who believes everyone should take their own bible to church... . and hopefully one in the same language as the sermons and lessons are going to be..... 📖
Quite often, a reformed congregation will use a psalter in addition to a hymnal so both of these will be found in the pew. A psalter is the Psalms that are arranged in a singable fashion and put to music. I think this is really cool and am trying to incorporate some of this into our worship service. Bringing my own Bible to church is something I have done going all the way back to my IFB days and I believe it is good practice that I intend to continue. Many have "Bible Apps" on their electronic devices but there is something to be said for actually turning pages in an actual book.

I wore a tie to church earlier this month. It was our Lady's Christmas Dinner and the guys were serving. I was carving and serving the ham. I wore my red tie which perfectly matched the Tabasco apron I bought earlier this year at Avery Island.

Lookin good! 😎

Depends on what you mean by preaching. Are you suggesting preaching is best in an auditorium with beautiful architecture and a pulpit that hides the body of the preacher is optimized for preaching?

Isn't it easier to hear and understand a preacher a few feet away?

It seems to me that style governs your idea of optimized preaching rather than the accessibility of word actually being preached.

BTW: I enjoyed the worship and preaching at this cathedral. It is not my style. But preferences need to be challenged. Good thing they had a remarkable sound system that was well balanced. He was a bit too far for my liking, but I need new prescriptions.

"But preferences need to be challenged." Amen and Amen! I would add that talking to people with different preferences is a necessity for a well balanced life.

our church has both hymnals and hardcover bibles in the pews... ..but most people bring their own as all the bibles there are english king james bibles... and many of the sermons are preached in the hawaiian language... .... i carry a hawaiian language bible with me ...but i have another one... which is pretty big and heavy - that has both hawaiian and king james english side by side on the pages... . my dad brings that one when he attends with me.....
