Worrying about the fact that some worker counted the kids on my bus and would turn me in for overloading it.
In the '70s, we fixed lunches for everyone on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I got up at 4:30 in the morning to do that. Did they stop doing that in the 80s?My stomach rumbling for lack of nourishment after not eating anything meaningful since I got up at 4 in the morning to go get a bus.
Every single guy had the exact same haircut. They all walked the same. It was like a robot factory.if you can imagine yourself sitting in a pew at FBCH during your time there, what details do you remember?
*As always, one memory per post. Remember, it's all about the numbers!!
I'm pretty sure we still had box lunches available, but I spent 2 out of the 3.5 years at Hyles as a married student. I was too groggy to make anything of substance that early in the morning! In the '70s, we fixed lunches for everyone on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I got up at 4:30 in the morning to do that. Well not necessarily...We all walked like the leader we served under. For example, Roger Casteel walked a certain way, kind of hunched over a little, and we Casteel worshipers followed his example.Every single guy had the exact same haircut. They all walked the same. It was like a robot factory.
As far as the haircuts, there were rules in the rule book that said our hair had to be a certain way and well, if you went against it, you got demerits.Every single guy had the exact same haircut. They all walked the same. It was like a robot factory.
I know. But even the non college student guys had that haircut. The church had at least 4000 in attendance when I went there and maybe there were 1000 students? 1986 Thanksgiving. I know, I was a Maranatha student in the 90's and we had rules too. I look back on it and laugh. As far as the haircuts, there were rules in the rule book that said our hair had to be a certain way and well, if you went against it, you got demerits.
Cookie cutters. A lot of IFB people and churches claim, no we’re not like the others…but they are. Just start asking questionsI know. But even the non college student guys had that haircut.
