Why do American marriages fail?

It just seems odd that so many people who have had successful, long marriages have children who don't. I know one Christian couple who were married 50 years, have three children who all divorced after 20+ years of marriage each.  All were professing Christians and active in church.

I know another couple that were ministry leaders a year ago now filing for divorce after 15 years.  It's disheartening.

My unbelieving family has numerous people with multiple marriages/divorces.  My wife and I have been happily married for more than 25 years. PTL!

Why do American marriages fail?

Well, in the case of my first marriage, it failed because of selfishness and a lack of maturity on both our parts. Thankfully I learned a lot from my first marriage, and so far have avoided making the same mistakes this time around. That's not to say I haven't made mistakes during my second marriage; it's just that I've learned to deal with them a whole lot better.

Marriage is no simple plan............sometimes you marry people who after marriage change their minds and leave you behind. Sometimes people change and try to have you killed.........not funny!! Sometimes the husband is abusive and you save and run for your life .....all of these are true examples of marriages that ended. Someone was saying the children all divorced ...........that happens. Until you know the situation be careful about be the judge!!

My guess is maybe the couple isn't compatible.

I know many couples who have been married for more than fifty years.  My own grandparents were married for nearly 65 years.  Yet, many of the children of these long-married couples have been divorced.  WHY?  Why is divorce much more prevalent now?

It's not an "other two" as if they're opposites.  We already live in an Oligarchy, unlike how this country is supposed to be.  All the Marxist, socialist, and Communist nations I know of are Oligarchies.

It's not an "other two" as if they're opposites.

I was making a point about blanket statements and extremist views of all stripes. 

We already live in an Oligarchy, unlike how this country is supposed to be.  All the Marxist, socialist, democratic and Communist nations I know of are Oligarchies.
