Well, since no one has ever shown me anything in the NIV that I ought not to believe, kudos to ol' JND for a job well done.

Mr. Darby made a study Bible with the latest and best modern manuscript evidence that was available at his time. Primarily from the work of Samuel Prideaux Tregelles. It was not meant to be read aloud. He used the KJV in his public speaking. His Bible was made to give non scholars access to the best manuscript evidence available in the mid to late 1800s.
