It seems like every forum has their posters that are a bit "out there".  Recently Vince has filled that position on the FFF.  Here are a few observations:

* Vince attended HAC in the early days.
* Vince speaks of a group of HAC guys that would threaten and bully other students.  He speaks of all of their terrible acts, yet he conveniently made a promise 40 years ago that he would not name names.
* Vince claims that Jim Vineyard knew what this group of guys were doing, yet he let it continue.
* Vince was bothered so much by what Vineyard was doing that he decided to go to work for him after leaving HAC.  Vince justifies this move because of the "results" he saw while working for Vineyard.
* Vince speaks of HAC "doctoring" student records, yet he never gives a real example.
* Vince is critical of the group that was chosen for the "Who's Who".  Some of them did some terrible things, yet he will not mention a name.
* As Vince makes all of these accusations he will receive a question from time-to-time.  He avoids answering 90% of the questions.
* If someone asks Vince a question about Vineyard he will act as if the person asking the question has problems with Vineyard.  He will follow it up by telling the person they need to forgive Vineyard.
* Some FFF posters feel that Vince is a poster from the old FFF coming to the new FFF.

So, has anyone figured Vince out?

I decided I was done with Vince last week.  All your observations are correct.  He is well trained in the xer techniques as evidenced on this site. he seems to be well versed in Alinsky's Rules for Radicals (I think I called that right)  Vineyard applies the rules and obviously it had worn off on Vince years ago.

Vince and JoA.  Whew what team they would make :o :o

There is a Vince Massi that did attend HAC in the early years. Maybe he is more like his sister than we think?

Who is his sister?

Yes, Jeri Massi. He has another sister that taught English at HAC

For some reason I am suddenly having a flashback to a scene from STAR WARS: The Empire Strikes Back.

I think the subject title in the OP would make a great movie title!

"What's with Vince?"

Oh, my!!  I wil try not to judge someone by a sibling,but...................
I think that would be a mistake if you did.  Unlike Jeri, whose closest friends are atheists and perverts, Vince appears to be continuing in the path he started, serving in Mexico.  And some of the things he has posted here has, for me, helped make sense of some of what I saw at HAC 30+ years ago.  It resonates.  On the other hand, much of what Jeri prolifically posts sounds like a screaming woman in a drunken rage and only makes me look around for a couple of extra strength Ibuprofen.

My year books are packed away when I get home I'm still away... I'm going to get my books and see who the 7-8 people... everyone I've talked to said they never heard of anything.

I hope that I do not get VM mad at me, but the movie character that most closely resembles him was played by Eddie Deezen in War Games, starring Matthew Broderick.  Eddie played the part of Melvin, "Mr. Potato head."

LOL!  I think you are spot on!  And his partner in the chair is named "Jim".  Wonderful.

I am certain of the name of only one of the "alleged" so-called "Roadway gang."  Even though many at HAC at the time pegged me as the ring-leader, I knew of only one of the group who perpetrated the heinous act.  So, knowing the names may be difficult.  For all the love I have for my friend VM, I've read everything that he has written here as well as on the old forum, and as much as I would like to avoid disappointing anyone, most of what he writes is inaccurate -- and I do mean "most."

The reality is as I mentioned in another thread.  There is no Roadway "gang."  There was an incident that occurred near the Roadway Trucking facility.  That is it.

There were no "gangsters" or "Nazis" as such.  Making a long story short, here, I had read William Shirer's Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, and shared the story with my friend DC, who was over all of the Route 70 buses.  That fall, the Route 70 buses averaged well over 1000 per Sunday, and my particular bus pulled into the lot each Sunday of the fall campaign as "top" bus.  JV labeled us the "World's Largest Bus Route."  JC, whose picture appears beside DH and JH in that flyer for the meeting in Anchorage Alaska, then spread the word via his preaching meetings that DC and [yours truly] had read the "Rise and Fall of the Third Reich," and used that as motivation to go out and big the "World's Largest Bus Route."  I guess that made us "Nazis."

JC, on the other hand told me that he had read a book about Al Capone and his gang, and he (JC) admired his tactics and such -- so I guess that made JC and his crowd "gangsters."

I had seen the picture of Dr. Hyles standing in front of the old church building while it burned, wearing his hat and overcoat.  I went out and bought the same, and pretty soon lots of preacher boys emulated that, and we all looked like "gangsters" and thugs, and such.

That's the only thing I can figure.
