The Republicans have the Presidency, the House, and the Senate.  As during every campaign many promises were made.  We know that several Republicans don't care much for Trump.  Will they work with him to get things done, or will they cross the aisle to make a point?  Will he use Executive Orders?  What campaign promises will he fulfill?  Hacker Nation, when we look back 4 years from now, what things will have changed?

The president's picture in all government offices.

That's worth it all if you ask me, especially when I go to the VA hospital!

As I understand, Mr Trump ran against the "establishment", including the establishment Republicans.  "Republicans" may have a majority in the House and Senate, but that certainly does not make them all of one mind... (example: Mr Trump seems to be against Free Trade, and that view isn't held be all Republicans).

I hope Mr Trump does not abuse the presidency with executive orders.

I think better Supreme Court judges will be appointed (by "better" I mean strict Constitutionalists).

His ability to get things done will depend upon how well he can work with the House and Senate.  I just don't know, and will see what happens, relying on God to give me the strength for each day.

In all honesty, I would like to see if they will try to repeal Roe vs. Wade. If they don't, it proves the Republican Party is a sham concerning their alleged pro-life agenda.

If they do try to repeal, kudos to them.

This is the time for them to put into practice what it is they preach to their recruits.

Roe v. Wade is not a law, but a SC opinion.  How do you repeal an opinion?  You would have to have the court change its opinion.  Is that what you mean?

Thank you.  You can't just overturn a SC ruling.

One of the huge gaping holes in the GOP's platform, is so called "free trade".

It is the one reason I voted for Trump.

NAFTA was the "worst trade deal in the history of the planet".

earnestly contend

Yes. With the SC spot open, the swing of power can go into the pro-life favor. Even if not overturned, will it try to be amended, say, only allowable in cases of medical benefits? Or any other way that can decrease the abortion rate? The Republicans have at least 2 years of power. What will they do with this?

If there was no recourse, then the voters who vote mainly on the pro-life agenda have no need to ever vote Republican again, because their cause cannot be granted. If that is the case, they are being suckered in by the Religious Right to vote Republican on a policy that can never be changed.

I have little knowledge of how the SC works, but I don't think Congress can bring a law suit to have the SC rule on it.

Does anyone have more knowledge of how that would work?

I, too, would like to see them reverse their decision on Roe vs. Wade and return the decisions to the states.

A conservative appointment to the SC is the only thing Trump can do to change the policy. However, pro-life sentiment is growing in the country. Because of technology, the lie if the pro baby killing faction that it's merely a piece of tissue is no longer viable.

I believe it's only a matter of time until the policy changes. However, with the continuing support of Planned Parenthood and selling baby parts by the Democrat Party, it will be a fight.

I hope in the end, something does get changed concerning abortion.

I do NOT see Trump bowing down to other world leaders like Obama.

I expect to see law enforcement respected & backed instead of those who are criminal in their behavior and then claim they are the victims.

I expect the military to be resected &strengthened instead of Obama's dismantling and social engineering.

I do not think the Trump will travel the world apologizing for what America's mistakes.

I do not think that Trump will travel to other countries pushing the so-called gay agenda.

Class, culture and dignity at the White House instead of rappers radicals being praised & held up a as role models.

Respect for America our constitution & Americans will return to the office.

Rebuilding America instead of breaking our financial backbones.

Respect for Christians again.

So much more.................

I like you brother, but this is WAY off base.

I do NOT see Trump bowing down to other world leaders like Obama.

There is this thing called "negotiation" in which one must give something to receive something. And you mean it is wrong for a leader to act in humility in deference to others? Seems Christlike to me.

I expect to see law enforcement respected & backed instead of those who are criminal in their behavior and then claim they are the victims.

So you are for abuse of power? Criminals have all rights until proven guilty. They should not be shot just because they are a suspect.

I expect the military to be resected &strengthened instead of Obama's dismantling and social engineering.

Is this about his pulling out of the Iran? Why are we there anyway? Oh, and didn't Bush put a time limit on them and Obama kept Bush's promise?

I do not think the Trump will travel the world apologizing for what America's mistakes.

So the American leader should not act like Christ taught, that of humility?

I do not think that Trump will travel to other countries pushing the so-called gay agenda.

It is about human rights and dignity. It is about treating gay people, ethnic minorities and women as everybody else. "Pushing the gay agenda" means "don't murder people because they are gay". (FYI, Hillary was hypocritical here, talking about equal rights yet taking funds from oppressive governments.)

Class, culture and dignity at the White House instead of rappers radicals being praised & held up a as role models.

Where was the Obama scandal concerning his immoral behavior? His guests? Well, now we have an immoral president who brags about his sexual predatory behavior, doesn't offer remorse for saying it, cheated on his wives, mocks disabled people, etc. And you think that is "class, culture and dignity?"

Respect for America our constitution & Americans will return to the office.

You mean like the inscription on the Statue of Liberty? "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me. I lift my lamp beside the golden door."

Nah, he would rather wall in the country, militarize the police force and restrict constitutional rights such as the practice of the Muslim religion. Sounds like his plan is to take away American democracy and make it communistic instead of the other way around.

Rebuilding America instead of breaking our financial backbones.

I think it was the last Republican President who left the country in a recession and the current Democratic one to right the ship. Not that everything is perfect, because it isn't. But the ship is in better condition now than when he took the helm.

Respect for Christians again.

What about respect for ALL people, including immigrants, Muslims and gays? Or are they not of the same value as Christians?

Friend, I don't think you realize this, but you are talking about Trump bringing about Christian Nationalism. That tears at the very democracy around which this country was formed.

Besides, Trump has one goal in mind: Win at all costs. He got the Christian vote so don't be surprised (assuming there is a second term), Christians get thrown by the wayside within the next 8 years. Not saying it WILL happen, but it would not surprise me if it did.

It takes 4 justices who want to hear the case to require the lower court to send all the supporting documentation for full review.

Just look up "writ of certiorari" for more info.

Regarding Roe V Wade, they could appeal it today and it would not be too soon for me. 50 million + babies have been killed since 1973.

The most practical path would be to end partial birth abortions first. Clearly all science says that a baby could live on it's own in these cases. Then I would work on the definition for late term abortions. This could be pushed back to first 3 months or earlier with current science. The last phase of repealing all of Roe V Wade and pushing it back to each state is unlikely even with 3 new pro life appointments. Justices are far more likely to redefine rulings than to repeal them all together.

As I remember Teri bit off a few pickle ends of pastors school lunches. But it looks to me like you've been into the whole liberal lunch and swallowed it and now your regurgitating it here on the FFF. Weren't you the guy that told me that you respected my vote?
