What is wrong with Facial Hair?

I once saw a tract published on the 70s entitled "Did Jesus Have A Beard."  Its basic point was that Jesus did not have a beard and only had something to pluck out because the events of his trial kept him from shaving.
Kind of makes you wonder how many other IFB holy cows stem from reactionary nonsense.

This is what happens when preachers don't carefully read their Bible - search the scriptures - but instead make assumptions based on their own culture.

the plucking of Jesus' beard may have actually been part of their mocking of Jesus as a king like Caesar because Caesar was clean shaven.

Just for the record, nothing in the Gospels says that the Romans plucked Jesus' beard. Isa. 50:6 is talking directly about Isaiah himself, and his obedience to God's call despite persecution. Its fulfilment in Christ is, at best, typological.
