Yeah, I know. I went overboard on this one because it was supposed to be an "Ultimate Linux Box". So it has a raid array with an internal raid box with 3 fans. It has several fans to keep the high powered audio and video cards cool. And the power supply fan has gotten noisy as it aged.
I bought an HP computer for my son that has a 6-core 3 GHz AMD processor and 8 GB of RAM. I upgraded the power supply and put a good video card in it. It's still very silent. I'm thinking of doing the same thing for myself because the computer itself is only about $450, and I already have a good video card. All I need is the upgraded power supply.
