Valentine Banquet

Joshua4missions, I don't know you but I know word gets around if you're asking 8 girls. After the second girl I would ask some serious questions with your friends. Do I smell ? Do I have bad breath? Am I rude and cocky? I hope you know I'm trying to help you here...Look for a girl that is working and really cares about people since you're going to the mission field.Let us know how it goes

I worked in the kitchen for 3 banquets then I took a date for 3 banquets. My last year there I had just met my wife to be and I didn't think she would go with me. So I took someone else as just friends and my wife has held it against me ever since.

So tomorrow I have reservations @ Ruth's Chris.

The 2nd year I took a date to the banquet I learned just how Carol Frye could be. I had asked a girl I really liked to go with me. She said yes and I was so happy. About a week before the banquet the girl told me we had a slight problem. She said CF had inspected her dress and said it was too low. She altered it 4 times and CF failed it 4 times. Finally the day of the banquet CF was unavailable so Dr. Jorgensens sec looked at it, said it was really nice and approved it.

I wouldn't give you a dime for CF
Tennessean's song...
Wouldn't give nuthin' for my Carol now...
She aint going to heaven no how...
She almost spoiled my date but JJ turned it around...
She stuck her nose where it didn't belong
Caused me grief and ruined my song...
If I could still I wouldn't give nuthin' for my CF now!
Stinkin hysterical!

I didn't go to any banquets in college. However, my senior year at HB is where I had my first date with a fine young lady who I would eventually marry.

I was scared to death and hardly said 2 words, but I really liked her. She thought I was too shy for her taste. About a month later, I asked her to Senior Banquet. She said "No, I'm not going to go with a date. I am just going to hang out with my friends." Oh well...

I waited 3 more years, never went on a single date and waited for her to finally come around. My parents had a cleaning business on the side (in addition to their college jobs) and they were looking for help. I mentioned Carla had cleaned houses for people before so they asked her to work for them for a few hours each night. That is when we hit it off and we've been married 26 years now. She's stood with me through my cancer, clinical depression and the trials of life. I don't know how I could have lived the last quarter of a century without her. God has truly blessed me! :)

His description of himself did remind me of a stinkin' Hacker.

Smellin', what a lovely pic of you and da bride.  <3

Freshman year - stayed on campus.  Enjoyed myself.
Sophomore year - had a date to the final off-campus banquet, held near the stables where wentook bus kids horeseback riding.
Junior year - that date and I had broken up. Was going to stay on campus. My WS boss bought a tcket for me and saved a place at their table.  My onky formal dress I had loaned out, so I actually wore another dress that a btidesmaid had worn in Joy Evans' wedding.
Senior year -went with my now hisband.
Husband's senior year - I drove back to attend with my man. Wore the same dress from year before, which was also dress friend borrowed my junior year. No one cared or remembered.

I do remembet tw themes. One was "Sentimental Journey". The other was  - and the junior higher in me still giggles when I think of it - "Night of Many Moons".

Freshman year: went with Tim zimmerman I Believe
Sophomore Year: I think a spanish gentleman
Junior year: Husband to be had to work so the day before he bought a steak dinner for two and we had the dinner upstairs in the dining hall, all by ourselves.
Senior year: married cant remember-probably nothing

I remember one year Tina Moffit (my roommate) was bragging on how special her dress was, and Addie wore the same one that her mom had sent from Puerto Rico. Addie looked the best in it!

I took my wife (not at the time) my first year of college in 1999.  We had been "dating" about a month.  I asked her to be my girlfriend....she told me no :(

1st- year went with someone as a first and only date
2nd year-worked in the back
3rd year- went with someone from the spanish college
4th year-worked in the back
5th year-went with boyfriend, now hubby
