Sure, they could not call it an Independent Baptist Assembly as that would be an obvious lie.

Why is that?

Wouldn't that make them one of the truly IB? They are doing what they think is best not what every other IFB thinks they should be.

It is my understanding that the College owns the church, if so that is not an independent church.

The real question is could the church congregation vote to sell the property and make it stick.

My understanding is that everything is owned by PCC. I could be wrong though.

Please enlighten me.

I don't know anything about PCC.

My thinking is that bc they r not like other IB churches doesn't mean they R not IB.

My only point is that I believe the School owns the church which means it is not and cannot be independent at all.

So by definition they could not be IB at all.

I could be wrong though.

I feel that u r..

If the college owns the buildings but the pastor leads the church what would make them not IB?

It is a matter of control. Independent means that no outside entity controls the congregation in any way.

The congregation selects and ordains a pastor in an Independent Baptist church.

My understanding is that the school PCC, selects and employs  the pastor.

I could be wrong though.

You are correct.
And here I thought Jesus owns the church (Acts 20:28). ???

That ain't anywhere close to the north side... Rather close to Hammond actually.

<inappropriately wondering if there wasn't some kind of contractual agreement between Wilkerson/DeAnda that JW is honoring>

By air it is rather close.

I don't know that it is so close by population.

It is in the old Salem Baptist Church Buildings and very close to Salem's new House of Hope on the Bishop Ford.

This is the location that has been discussed for some time and where we were expecting them to go.

I notice they do not mention the chapel they had on the North side. I imagine it will continue as a chapel of House of Grace Baptist Church.

If I find out anything I'll make it known.

Yes there are some side agreements but I would not call them contracts. I am not at liberty to say any more.

For 19 years God has given me the opportunity to love and serve the Hispanic people of the beautiful city of Chicago. My family and I have served the north of the city, the south and every suburbs around it. I have always had a tremendous burden to carry the gospel to Chicago. Over the past 14 years my family and I have served at First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana as Spanish Pastor. However, three years ago, and this has not been a secret, God began to work in my heart to do more for the Hispanic people of Chicago. God has finally opened up doors for this vision to take place. It is with great joy and pleasure to welcome everyone that we will be accompanying us to their new church, their new home.

Welcome to the House of Grace Baptist Church!

Budget is about 99k.

As found in weekly news.

Not bad for worst weeks of the summer

I bet you're teaching your members tithing is necessary to please God!

Lies don't equal God's blessings. Creflo got his jet. We all know how that works. You promise endless blessing for giving or punishment for not giving..... you'll get some money. Now dealing with God in Eternity.... not so much.

I don't get the posing!!

For family.... maybe..... why share with the world? Why use it as a promotional tool?

I guess I'm not finding the harm in BKW posting the giving of FBCH and rejoicing that it is over budget during the summer months. After Schaap's fall many were predicting that FBCH would be closing the doors in a short amount of time.  BKW's post is just being open and honest.
