Chuck Girard. "Rock and Roll Preacher" 1978

Great biographical tune.

Sounded like most Christian rock performers.Pitiful they couldn't make in the real industry so they peddle their wares elsewhere.

Ahh, you know not of what you speak.

Girard was a member of two successful secular band, charting two top 50 hits, one a #9 hit with Little Honda in the late 60's as a member of the Hondell's which the Beach Boys later covered with lesser success. He later went onto being a founding member of the first popular Christian rock band in the US, Love Song (which also featured Richie Furay who was in Buffalo Springfield and several other successful) rock bands. Their sound was "country rock" that was becoming popular at the time in California. Love Song's 1972 debut album is considered one of the top ten Christian albums of all-time by CCM magazine. Girard was not a "wannabe" by any means.
