Those who "pushed" man worship

Jim Vineyard was big on "The Man of God," often telling stories with himself in the starring role. Some of the students also declared themselves to be "The Man of God," shouting threats at their bus workers if they didn't believe it.

However, with one exception, every time the phrase "man of God" is used, it clearly refers to a prophet. The NT tells us that one of the prophet's duties is to comfort. Neither Jim not any of "Man of Gods" were prophets.

He had dropped "The Man of God" when I worked for him in Oklahoma, though.

On the HAC FFF we read quite often about the man worship that some feel took place at HAC or in the IFB movement.  I know that many will say that Jack Hyles encouraged this.  But beyond Hyles himself, who was it that pushed this practice?

Many of the HAC graduates (I attended a few HAC churches, and the worship from afar was always there)

Bob Gray, TX
Tom Neal
Jack Trieber
Paul Chappel

Shame on you turning four posts into one!!

Clearly, I have not spent enough time in the company of the Master (...master poster, that is).

You have - you just need to take better notes.  :)
