This report says that 83% of doctors consider quitting over Obamacare

The amazing things is that the wealthy here in the UK still carry private health insurance. The NHS here likes to brag (brag!!?) that they only have a six month waiting list to see a doctor. In order to keep that statistic, they will not allow you to make an appointment if that appointment would occur more than six months out. If you have private insurance though, you get moved to the front of the line. No waiting with the great unwashed for you. You are paying with private insurance, then you are someone special. I was asking a couple of friends of mine here, who have private health insurance by the way, about this six month waiting list. I asked if there was then another waiting list to get on the six month waiting list. They kind of chuckled and admitted that they did not know.

While we are over here, we also use the NHS system. Before we moved we were advised to keep out private insurance from the US just in case of an emergency.

A close friend of mine, who is a doctor, has a son that was going to be a doctor. He no longer wants to be because of Obamacare.

What does Obamacare offer the next generation of doctors? Exponentially increased government intrusion, lower wages, inadequate medicine.

I'm not a woman.  I guess you'll have to look elsewhere for your intarweb luv.

Also interesting to note that you think implying that someone is a woman is an insult.
Sexist misogynist much these days, hmm?

The color of the sky in my world? It's reality-colored.
Unlike your sky, which is koolaid - colored.

Lying liberal view of reality is something like the magical mystery tour

1. No lies here - just inconvenient facts.
2. I guarantee you that I have a far better grasp of economic and political realities than you'll ever come to acquire, in your entire wasted, useless life.

What people seem to miss is the following set of scenarios:

Scenario 1:
* Low-income people have no coverage at all
* middle income people have coverage that they pay for
* upper income people have coverage that they pay for

Scenario 2:
* Low-income people have NHS coverage
* middle income people have NHS coverage + individual coverage that they pay for
* upper income people have NHS coverage + individual coverage that they pay for

The second scenario covers more people and improves overall health of society.

As for not having choices in the NHS:
http://www.nhs.uk/choiceintheNHS/Yourchoices/Pages/Yourchoices.aspx
* You choose your GP
* You choose your hospital
* You choose other services from Any Qualified Provider (AQP plan)

Is the NHS popular?
A recent pseudo-move by the UK government to eliminate the NHS resulted in such a public outcry of rage that the NHS servers crashed from all the public comments expressing the outcry.

More than three-quarters of the public

Coward?  ROFL...If I thought for a moment you had any comprehension of reality I might be offended and try to show you how wrong you are...but I will let those who know me join me and laugh at your continued lying liberal fantasies.  You would not know courage if it stood before you, you probably think it takes courage to organize community groups!

He's really not worth the trouble replying, but you're right -- he sure is good for a laugh.  Typical progressive.

Agreed...typical liberal in any arena of life...they replace light with their own darkness, re-define so that their darkness is now light, then call it truth because they say it's so!  They should be pitied if it weren't that their "truth" is so dangerous!

You ARE a coward. Nothing will change that.

I know when I DON'T see it - that would be your posts. Hit the road, loser.

Only in your own mindless imagination...I know you can't help your limited understanding of truth...after all you are a libtard!

I will admit that the NHS system here is great for me as I do not have to pay for it. I am glad that because of my status over here that I am exempt from paying UK taxes. I would hate to pay they amount of taxes that people pay over here.
[/quote]

I think the amount of taxes that anybody pays is not the question.

The proper questions should be like these:

1. Are we getting value for our money?
2. Is the tax burden distributed in a fair and equitable manner?
3. How much waste is in the system?
4. Does the spending on various programs reflect our national priorities?

Questions like that.

And obviously, I think that different people will have different responses.

Oh, and note:  since Miller hasn't jumped off the deep end like the conservotards around here, notice how my comments on his post are different from how I respond to the little gang o' wingnutters.  What ye sow, that shall ye also reap.
