Yes. 10AM. Hyles touted it as the church's  only one hour service. Very laid back, sometimes he wrote a poem for the occasion.  Not your typical song, announcements,  song sermon type.

And Believe It Or Not...... the Wednesday evening service was shorter with the teacher's meeting before that either canceled or truncated. That's about all there was in altering a service schdule at FBCH back in the day.

It was Hyles at his best.

The special touch. Doing the classic bringing in a sailor's wife through the choir door while he was at the pulpit talking with the guy about missing her.

There was the complete break in the wall  of being a college student and regular member.

Perhaps what made it so enjoyable is that there was a little more elbow room. Sounds bad, but the whole atmosphere was a bit more relaxed.
 
I don't get it.  Is that his uniform?  Why would you frame your uniform?  No ribbons?
