Once again, I have returned from helping the kids at Aunt Elvia's Home with their homework, and once again, some of the kids had no idea of what they were taught today.
No one is perfect, but Marlene Evans taught us "If they haven't learned, you haven't taught!" and she repeated it over and over again.
The Mexican school teachers stand in front of a chaotic classroom and teach the lesson properly, ignoring the kids who are clowning around. They explain that their duty is to teach properly, and if the kids don't pay attention, it is not the teacher's responsibility.
Now I know that it isn't always the teacher's fault, but these teachers don't even try.
Marlene Evans taught us better than that.
