Testimony, judgmentalism, and designated drivers.

In light of the events of yesterday this whole argument is trivial and just plain downright stupid.

I agree. When I first heard about the shooting I was kind of expecting a thread about it on here but nope.

Friday's event will not change any of the principles of this topic.  It will give anti-gun opportunists fodder.

It just put's the whole thing in perspective and that's the fact that 99.9% of the wnining and moaning that goes on about the trivial matters of people's behavior is not worth a spit in the wind.

For a few days,...then back to the grind.  Look at Israel, they have daily rocket attacks.  Think they stopped arguing over the price of olives?

This thread hexed me  :o  My testimony is down the toilet

"I am sick" my son said when he called late last night (midnight, he's usually home much earlier)

"Where are you?"

" At So and so Pub"

" Pub? ...you mean a Bar?"

"Yes, I am sick"

"Where are you?" (And I had to ask for directions though it was about a mile away)

No Son in sight

Walked up to the Bar to ask the bartender if he's seen... well describing my almost 22 yr old- Thin, fit, brown hair, brown eyes. That describes most boys his age.

So instead I checked the bathroom. He was throwing up!

I used my shirt to wrap around his face... to hold his hair back

The hard liquor stench surprised me, don't they clean these bathrooms??

I had TP ready but instead, he used my shirt to wipe off his mouth. Yuck!!

Tossed my shirt in the garbage can near the sink as we left. The regurgitation stench wouldn't likely be touched by my weak, environmentally friendly soap

A few were whistling (at me, knowing my name) then A FULLY GROWN woman near MY AGE yelled out my sons name

I halted, then started towards her. "Lets go!" he started pushing me

The FULLY GROWN woman knew my sons name, NOT GOOD

Drive home was quiet except his comment "I want Mom. She can sleep with me tonight ok"

good grief ::) Pray for him ok? And me. I've not said anything yet

Why not give clean needles to junkies?

yes  why not

i lost some one dear to me because of hepatitis c

wow

i am    was    triggered into mourning today

and i can not stop weeping

I understand the original reference to giving needles to Junkies, but aside from that, any body who is diabetic can tell you that the syringes for taking insulin are available at any drug store for about $14 for 100 for .3cc up to $19.95 for 100 1 cc needles.  And you do not need a prescription (they are on ebay as well), nor have to sign your name, or anything.

I have no idea what drugs cost, but surely $.14-$.20 for a needle, is not a major expense to a person taking drugs.

Maybe we need a different example from the original poster  of that statement since providing a junkie with something that you can buy 3 of for the price of a cup of coffee isn't relieving him of great financial strain--he could afford new needles if he/she wished.

Sorry about your friend with Hepatitis c.  Sad.
