Not saying homosexuality isn't sinful. I'm just bringing to light that there was more to the demise of Sodom than homosexuality and there is more to American greed than political liberals. So if God judges America for the sins of Sodom it won't be solely for homosexuality but rather our greed, pride, self-indulgences and lack of benevolence of which many Christians are guilty as well. But it is easier to point the finger at the sins of others that we don't commit than to take note of the sins in our own lives which might be the final cause of God's judgement.

From my perspective, the issue referenced in Ezekiel was a precursor to that referenced in Jude. Sin begets sin. Sin is progressive. Usually.... leading to increased levels of depravity. In proverbs Sin is liked to "fire". Fires grows and grows till it ultimately destroys the individual.

While I can agree to some degree.... Do you see any "rank" to sin?

Dunno if there is rank. I'm not God so I would have no way of knowing. However, there are sins people commit that affect into the lives of others that from man's perspective are more grievous simply because they affect the lives of others. For example, the sin of fornication which might be sinful to the consentual individuals involved would seem to me as evil as adultery but the adultery would be the betrayal of a spouse and affect a family more than a single man who visits a prostitute. I would guess both would be the same sin but one would be more grievous to others than the other. Does that make one more sinful than another? Dunno.

in genesis 19.. .. when the angels visiting lot struck the men outside his door blind... ...  then ordered lot to flee the city with his family.....  it was not because those men wanted to show the angels their pride... flaunt how much excess food they had... or demonstrate how prosperously easy their lives were..... all while refusing to help the poor and needy....  there was another very evil and wicked thing those men wanted to do to the angels in lots house ......  and they stated their intentions in no uncertain terms...... 

no doubt those other things mentioned are also wicked sins....  and many countries including our own is guilty of them.....  but they were not the sins the angels struck the men of sodom, standing outside lots door, blind for.....  and they weren;t the sins lot was willing to subject his own daughters to rather than have the angels visiting his house defiled........

and though a lot of people will probably hate me for saying this.....  the attitude of those men of sodom standing outside lots door that night...  reflect the attitudes of many in the gay communities today.... and also their defenders.... ... they are not satisfied to have their peculiar sin and keep it to themselves....  they want to involve everybody else in it too... make them accept it and rub their faces in it......  whether they like it or not....  and that;s the problem....  .. a lot of people, including many christians... refusing to see it for what it is have become blind to it.... or made themselves blind to it....  now it seems the supreme court has joined them...... wandering around blind unable to find their way just like another group did in sodom a few thousand years ago......  until God destroyed their city...

before paul ever took up the pen christians, and the faithful before Christ came, understood this by reading genesis..... nothing in the new testament contradicts it........  so why the confusion?...

You get to the point of the matter. 
It would seem the context of the story of Sodom's destruction doesn't give much room to question what THE sin of the Sodomites was...
But, on the bright side, for Smellin, it doesn't say they were Democrats.....
