Don't you know that, like blacks can't be racist, former fundys can't be judgmental and caustic.  :)

or maybe people are angry that the managawds took advantage of their positions, but funny, for all of the talk you give Ryan or TB, I dont see you guys rebuking the fundies on here....
  go figure... :(

Well then, open your eyes.....former fundy...who still seems to be obsessed with them.

I have no positions...none....that would be considered fundy here.
I'm not KJVO...not even KJVP.
Our church uses CCM and has no choir, but we do have a praise team.
Our ladies wear pants...to church!!
Our ladies and men wear shorts.
We have church leaders who drink wine.
We have 5 Pastors who share the leadership, authority and rssponsibility.

Simply because I try to be honest, I don't think all fundys are the same any more than all freebirds are the same. NOT all fundys are Pharisees and not all Freebirds are obsessed and bitter at the movement....but some of them are!  ;)

I'll give you that, since I've never been to your church. Next time I'm in Asheville visiting my brother in law, I'll come see for myself ;)
But dude, seriously.... You and Ryan are not even handed when you guys do not call out the fundies here. If there needs to be change we have to begin with ourselves, then family, then our communities...

Btw, you guys have snakes?....... j/k :D

The insinuation is that I'm not truthful about our belief and practice?
I'm known personally by at least one other poster here.
We have a website and I'm on FB.....a pretty extensive charade....

I'm a long drive from Asheville....about 4 hours.
Have you seen my Marty Braemer thread?

No way, I know you are being truthful with me. I do not think anybody here us an outright liar in any way shape or form. I believe ya'
No I have followed the Marty thread, I have no idea who he is so I really haven't paid attention to it

(Disclaimer: This is not a criticism of your autonomous church including yourself)
That goes against the SBC constitution which unfortunately hasn't been modified in that area. They put it along side pornography prohibition which would make the constitution not a list of recommendations but rules which should be enforced when someone is caught - at the least they should be reproved for it. I realize not every church associated with the SBC is a constitution church but why even have that rule if it isn't going to be enforced. I say the rule should be removed so that the SBC doesn't look pretentious in the eyes of the world which is already the most hated Protestant denomination - they were hating the SBC before independent Baptists were exposed.

I'm not familiar with any SBC constitution or by law prohibiting moderate alcohol consumption. The 2000 Baptist Faith and Message, which addresses many doctrinal and social/moral positions doesn't mention it...to the best of my knowledge.

There is no constitution...I believe this is referencing what many churches have in their church covenant...no consumption or selling of alcoholic beverages.

It is not in the Baptist Faith and Message (why would it be?) but it is in a resolution made in 2006 - it's on the SBC web site - http://www.sbc.net/resolutions/amResolution.asp?ID=1156.

This is the statement that should be modified or removed.
That the messengers to the Southern Baptist Convention meeting in Greensboro, North Carolina, June 13-14, 2006, express our total opposition to the manufacturing, advertising, distributing, and consuming of alcoholic beverages;

When people see statements like that they make the assumption that all Southern Baptists don't drink just as all Mormons don't drink or at least is what they think.
