So, what should Schaap be doing at this point?

On another thread someone posted a letter that Schaap had sent them from prison.  There were a multitude of reactions from the Hacker Nation.  Some were angry that he sent a letter to anyone.  Some were angered about him talking about his kids.  Some were upset about the things he says he is doing while incarcerated.  Some were just upset.

Here is the topic for this thread - Schaap is locked up and will be for several years.  His appeal went down the tubes.  He is in prison and knows this is where he will be.  What do you think Schaap should be doing with his time?  This is not a "defend Schaap" thread, but rather a "put yourself in his current shoes" thread.  So Hacker Nation, what say ye?

Volunteer his time in the chapel.

He's been around FBCH a long time, he could write a tell all book?

Tough question. He should be learning humility and if he isn't, he probably will at some point. Practically speaking, I don't know what he could do that would benefit anyone. I do look forward to hearing actual suggestions.

I can't say what he should be doing. Maybe working as hard as he can to pay for his victim's therapy?

I'll tell you what I think he is doing. I think he is reading Jim Bakker's book about how he gained a following after getting out of prison. I can see a TBN show for Schaap.

Dodging the KGB, I'm sure they are pretty upset that they could not get the father-in-law with all the high profile security he had around him 24/7.

So, he needs to be careful in there because he does not have the well trained security he once had passed down to him.  He is a wide open target for the KGB.

Too bad JS and Kent Hovind couldn't hook-up the big house. Tag-Team Preaching. One could tell you where you came from and the other could tell you where you're heading.

On page 2 of his letter he claims to be completing the work of Christ.  Maybe he should learn "it is finished"

Quietly.

Believe it or not, this is EXTREMELY large for a prison cell. Typically they are about 1/4 this size.

Wouldn't Schaap be in protective custody unit or a minimum security facility since people of Schaap's ilk are not allowed in prison population?

Schaap will no doubt become a featured guest on TBN and he'll buddy up to Matt Crouch and he'll be hosting "Praise-A-Thon" where Schaap will be demanding money and talking about women wearing blue jeans etc.

I'm sure Schaap wishes he could play some of his Alvin Martinez records or listen to Tony Hutson's comedy sermons :D :D

But on a serious note, didn't the "Beloved" (Schaap) try to get an early parole?

Who's Matt Crouch??? Is he any relation to the late Paul Crouch of TBN?

Is this Matt Crouch?

No, this is Farrah Fawcett!

Matt Crouch is the son of Paul and Jan and his "Christian" films have bombed at that box office worse than any b-movie. Matt Crouch claims Joel Osteen, Benny Hinn, Robert Schuller, and Rod Parsley are his icons in the ministry.

I can easily see a PTL show 10 years from now with Matt hosting and Schaap "preaching" on the Praise-A-Thon

So far there has been only one real suggestion as to what Schaap should be doing with his time.  The suggestion was "volunteering in chapel".  Others have mentioned "learning humility, repenting, and time (quietly)".  While these 3 are the most important, these are internal issues.

Schaap is in prison.  He has to be doing something with his time.  In his letter he mentioned several things that he was doing.  Several on the FFF were a bit critical of these things.  I'm interested.  Schaap is locked up in prison for several years.  What would be acceptable in your eyes for him to be doing?  I believe the one suggestion was fantastic.  Surely we can come up with more than this.  I'm sure the days are long.

Statistically, those that volunteer in the chapel or are active in some type of "church" while in prison, there is less likely of a chance for repeat offenders.  If he volunteers in the Chapel, not only will it help him spiritually but also keep him busy.
