He has also discussed how damaging it was to his fellow teens including some in his own family. He has several sermons he has preached around the country in which he discusses the hurt Dave caused and the scares it left. You have to remember Eddie was not in a leadership position at that time and had little to do with what happened or how it was handled.Teri in NC said:RAIDER said:Walt said:RAIDER said:Here is an old thread bump from January 2013!
He does seem to have been doing a decent job; I wish he would clean house and apologize for the errors in the past, but otherwise... pretty good.
While apologizing for the errors of the past administrations may seem like a great idea, I don't know how he would ever get all of the facts straight. The Schaap situation is public knowledge. i'm not sure how or why Wilkerson would apologize for that situation. Going back from there I'm sure there are a lot of "he said, she said" situations that would never be able to get to the bottom of.
IMO, Wilkerson needs to be aware of the accusations of the past and just move forward. On the other hand, if he feels staff members should have handled the Schaap situstion differently he can always "drain the swamp".
I know for a fact that Wilkerson has been made aware of some of the 'fall in grace" that DH had, but chooses (for whatever reason) not to make waves with his current staff members like Eddie Lapina who continue to cover up what DH did. All in the name of damage control for the cause of Christ.
Hogwash.
Yet won't talk to or make eye contact with the girls DH raped...... ;(
