I think it was voted the all time favorite on one occasion.  You know, the one where Opie kills a mama bird and then takes care of the 3 baby birds and names them Wynken, Blynken and Nod.  Barney pretends to understand bird talk, and Opie asks Andy how will he know if he did right by the birds.  Andy, "Well, Wynken will tell Blynken, Blyken will tell Nod, and Nod will tell Barney."  Classic.  Proof that humor doesn't have to be vulgar.

Andy doesn't whip his son Opie for killing the bird, but opens the window and makes Opie listen to the baby birds chirping for their mama.  He tells Opie before that: "Sorry isn't the magic word that makes everything all right." Parenting 101.

Same episode....

Barney is trying to explain "ratios" to Opie. He, typically, has a hard time with his explanation and says "a ratio is like half a boy". Opie, shaking his head says, "Poor Horatio". Lol
