Received my new iPad today.

Who is your provider? And what are you going to do if they start throttling your data speed like I've been reading about?

It's my first Apple experience and so far, to my surprise, I like it.
How many Apple users populate the FFF?

I'm still trying to decide whether to get rid of my 8 track tape player.

When I've had the opportunity to use Apple computers, I've liked them. But I'm against factory built computers, and especially ones with proprietary hardware. I use PCs because I can build them myself. I may build myself a Hackintosh someday (a PC designed to be OS X compatible).

I would like an iPod. They're a little pricey, but they do really good stuff, so probably worth it if I can come up with the money.

But iPads or iPhones? No way, not until my income is much higher. Right now the monthly subscription fees would break me.

No monthly sub fees if you use wireless internet. I have wireless nearly everywhere I go so no need for a phone sub.

Yeah, I guess that'd work. But it wouldn't let the iPhone work as a phone, just as a pocket computer, right? And the iPad would probably be better for that, if less compact.

I would like to try an ipad or some type of tablet. It would make the forum experience a little more enjoyable than my smartphone. Only hang up for me is that I have no pocket big enough for it! 8)
Buy you a pair of Dickey overalls and use the front bib pouch to hold your iPad , that's what I do

I built a Hackintosh.  It works great and is 100% compatible.  10 times better than Windoze in my opinion.  Just go to their sites and make sure you use the right hardware.

Yep, piece of cake I'm sure as long as you follow the hardware compatibility lists. I am a veteran PC builder, been building all my own and some for friends for many years now. Cost-effective but powerful gaming PCs are my specialty. DirectX games are the reason I still use Windows.

Yea, if you like games Windows is better because of the number and variety of games available for it.  I only have Civ V and some small games on my OSX box.  It is rock solid compared to Windoze even better than Ubuntu in my opinion.

It is an Ipad for me either that or the Samsung Galaxy pad.  Hard to decide.  I hope to get one soon and use it for reading and internet while sitting in the recliner.  :)

It's official, I'm hooked....Wish I'd gone Apple a long time ago....

And it only took 5 days.  :)

I used to get excited when a new version of Windows would come out. Now it's like, who cares?

Did you get your question about Power Point on the IPad answered?

I'm still having some problems, but overall there is no comparison, I'll take the Apple.
I've purchased Docs to Go and am making progress toward preparing my sermon presentations.

I have learned now that any question I have I just look for a video about it on youtube. Invariably I get the help I need.

Recent rumor that Windows is going to make Office available for the iPad. I don't see how they can't.  Apple has a pretty good app called Presentation for $9.99 that is PowerPoint type app.

It is a little pricy but mine was a gift so that makes it much more enjoyable.
I'm still getting familiar with the process since its the only Apple product I've owned.
But so far I really like it.

I understand iPad 3 is coming soon.
Will that make my 2 obsolete?
They arent offering the 1's anymore.
Apple technology moves so fast....

Our church gave our pastor an iPad as a gift. He loves it and even uses it when he preaches.

As for me, I <3 my iphone....lots.

And by <3, I mean to get me to give up my iphone you would have to pry it from my cold, dead hands.

;P
