Love the "I know you are but what am I" snappy comeback.  And you didn't even take a whole day to think it up.

You don't hold the patent on mindless drivel, you just perfected it.

I'll be here all week.    8)

Heb 1:7
7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

Heb 1:14
14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Angels are spirit beings that God uses to minister to us.
-God

Angels are really secret code for the one super duper extra special guy per church, that gets all the messages from God, so no one else has to think.
-Some real stupid men.

I suppose you think the candlesticks are literal candlesticks in the church foyer as well? Do the words "rightly divide" mean anything to you?

Anytime a word appears multiple times in the Bible it always means the exact same thing.

"I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."

By "water" here, John is referring to a sledge hammer.  And by "Holy Spirit", John means a fifth of Jack Daniels.

And that's what it means because that's what I want it to mean.  Amen.

Interesting to read all the responses ... and then it hit me ... hey ... this is ...

"The Fellowship Forum"

"Be nice. This not a place to argue."
"Include your prayer requests here."

I suppose I think angel means angel.
And I suppose I think Jesus told John exactly what he meant:

Rev 1:20
20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.

And by angel, He meant:

Heb 1:14
14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Since John already met one:

Rev 1:1
1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

Unless you think that Patmos Baptist Church had "a pastor" who preached John down the aisle that Lord's Day.

Thank you! I am grateful for the prayers.

I am amazed that this request for prayer stirred up a debate. Why? It's discouraging that a prayer requests sets Christian against Christian.

If someone posted a request for prayer that he could find a practicing homosexual for a pastor, that would stimulate a debate, wouldn't it?  I'm sure you understand that, because most people on here agree that it would be wrong to have a practicing homosexual for a pastor.  If you asked why they turned it into a debate, these people would claim that they care about what the Bible says about the makeup and structure of an assembly.

Well, that's my claim, too.  I care about what the Bible says about the makeup and structure of the assembly.  Which is why I find fault with your prayer request.  The Bible does not support the idea of an assembly with a single, central man o' God pastor.  You don't need one.

Our prayer request for your church is, and should be, that you follow God's leading.

We are sad to see some caught up in false hope, in some man, and not looking to the men God has already put there.

So we pray for your assembly, that you will follow God.

A church searching for a pastor equated with a Bible-believing church looking for a gay pastor????  One of the dumbest posts on the FFF ever.

gcacoach, you're right about the folk's whose filter is broken and want to argue in the Fellowship forum......but still praying for your pastor search.  Care to let us know how things are going?
