Yes, all that can happen, just as much with alcohol as with pot of course. But we don't make alcohol illegal. The problem is with people being irresponsible in their use. And unfortunately, it isn't possible to outlaw being stupid and/or foolish.

You cannot talk about how abuse of drugs is harmful and separate it in any meaningful way from how the abuse of food is harmful. They are extremely close parallels, except abusing food is acceptable where abusing drugs is not, and the number of people who abuse food is significantly higher. (How many extremely overweight preachers have I heard talk about the evils of alcohol...)

If you really can't see the difference in the level of risk to OTHERS between taking mind-altering drugs and overeating, you're just stupid, and you're not worth the effort.
