I’ve heard him speak on a few occasions. He’s a good storyteller.

The opening post tells of the '75 Pastor's School...which would've been the first held in the new & expanded auditorium.Watching preachers fight for seats
The opening post tells of the '75 Pastor's School...which would've been the first held in the new & expanded auditorium.
We had been meeting at the Civic Center for 6 months for the Sunday's services and the church had no problem filling
the new auditorium for Sunday services & Pastor's Schools.
Bro Hyles took a lot of flack, as he loved telling how he designed the color scheme and style of the new auditorium. During
the first baptismal service, the curtain opened and there was no cross in the baptistery where in the '64 auditorium, where there was a
cross. Many people didn't like that a cross wasn't visible in the new auditorium....Bro Hyles came back and said that the exterior
facade of the new building had hundreds of crosses. Many may not know, but the facade actually covers four different buildings that were built at different times, in fact, even different decades (i.e. Miller Hall, the educational building, the '64 auditorium, and the '75 auditorium).
Thanks for the post. I remember processing through, "Oh, there's a facade....."The opening post tells of the '75 Pastor's School...which would've been the first held in the new & expanded auditorium.
