I hope all the John Rice Pamplets & Books enshrined in the moisture contolled, vacuum case are safe.

Could somebody who is still reading here, and is proficient in security systems, provide a net link to some good potential systems, keeping in mind that we're on a budget?

They sell alarm systems that you install yourself at alarmsellout.com - we spent about $130 on ours, but they start at just under $100. If you want it monitored, they charge either 9.95 a month if you pay monthly or 8.95 a month if you pay yearly, plus a $25 setup fee. Otherwise, you can program it to call 4-6 phone numbers when it is triggered. We don't use the monitoring service, but it calls our home phone, both our cell phones, and1 of the neighbors (he also has an alarm and his calls us).

If you decide to go more high-tech with the cameras, the ZMODO systems that you can get on ebay are decent. The cameras have pretty good night vision and they can be viewed via an internet connection or smartphone. The 4-8 camera setups run from a little over $200 to around $360. I like them because I can pull up the cameras on my phone if the alarm goes off - I caught someone stealing gas like this last year.

Thanks.

We already have an alarm system, but they cut the phone line and disabled its ability to call out to the police and security center.  So I guess we need to look for some sort of system that has better concealment, or is wireless.

I appreciate the other tips and recommendations.
