This thread has absolutely nothing to do with what has been discussed lately...

The other day, Mrs. Abcaines and I checked into an Airbnb room in a house hosted by a very young couple. The bed was nothing like the listing depicted but what stunned us was there was only a plain comforter covering a fitted sheet on the bed. No top sheet. We were disgusted (the condition of what linens there were was pretty poor) and walked out opting to drive home late at night. The host felt he was offering adequate lodging which justified his price of >$100. We disagreed and Airbnb sided with us and granted a partial refund.

I mentioned this snafu to a co-worker and she told me that young people, <40, don't see any reason to use top sheets. I looked it up last night and to my surprise, there are volumes of form discussions on the pros and cons of top sheets.

If someone decides for themselves not to use a top sheet for their own bed, fine. But if I'm staying in a room that others rent, a clean top sheet is a non-negotiable for me. Apparently, I'm old fashioned and behind the times on this.

Has anyone else heard about anything like this?
