Morality has come a long way baby!

So, is your selective school marm chiding limited to only me, or are you going to monitor Tbone and various other posters with similar statistics....Here's the statement YOU made in the OP...

Here is the statement YOU made which is what I was posting about:
"... and apparently way more time spent on this forum than us "lazy" Christians."

That is why monitoring Tbone (et al) has nothing to do with this. Keep up.

Whatever you say, my lil stalker buddy.  You need to get over your insecurity issues.  You're constantly talking about how much goofing off you do.  I take care of a family, do my job, and fulfill my numerous church responsibilities on time, and with proper attention, so go fish elsewhere for something more, umm, substantive to talk about.

I appreciate all the attention, but frankly, you bore me after  awhile.
Those verses do not speak of God either. They are too general in nature to know what they mean.
We can do this...

Feeling like a refugee
Like it don't belong to me
The colors flash across the sky

You can never be satisfied with this earth. Try Eccl. 3:11.

This air feels strange to me
Feeling like a tragedy
I take a deep breath and close my eyes
One last time
One last time

Storms on the wasteland
Dark clouds on the plains again
We were born into the fight

We were born into a fallen world.  Life on earth is a "fight". See Romans 8:18-21.

But I'm not sentimental
This skin and bones is a rental
And no one makes it out alive

We all die. Life is not about this world. Genesis 3, 1 Cor 15

Until I die I'll sing these songs
On the shores of Babylon
Still looking for a home
In a world where I belong

Our home is not on this earth. 2 Cor 5:20, Eph 2:19, Phil 3:20. Also check out Psalm 137:1

Where the weak are finally strong
Where the righteous right the wrongs
Still looking for a home
In a world where I belong

You can't recognize Heaven and ultimately the restoration of all things? Look at the Romans 8 section again.

Feels like we're just waiting, waiting
While our hearts are just breaking, breaking
Feels like we've been fighting against the tide

Seems like they might be echoing Paul? Really...go back to that Romans 8 section again. Might want to look in Ecclesiastes as well.

I wanna see the earth start shaking
I wanna see a generation
Finally waking up inside

You don't hope for this? You should...you are a minister of reconciliation. 2 Cor 5:18-19

This body's not my own
This world is not my own
But I still can hear the sound
Of my heart beating out
So let's go boys, play it loud

Wow...total surrender leading to worship? What did Jesus say was the greatest commandment?

On the final day I die
I want to hold my head up high
I want to tell You that I tried
To live it like a song

Remember that whole sheep/goats parable? If you want to talk about believers specifically, you can read 1 Cor 3:11-15.

And when I reach the other side
I want to look You in the eye
And know that I've arrived
In a world where I belong

You don't long for the Heaven and/or the Parousia? 1 Cor 16:22

I still believe we can live forever
You and I we begin forever now
Forever now
Forever
I still believe in us together
You and I we're here together now
Together now
Forever now

Oh wow...they believe the words of Jesus? John 6 and 1 Cor 15

Now...if you'd like, I can swap out those verses and list a bunch more that say the same thing.

You have a song giving the whole metanarrative: creation, fall, redemption, restoration and then someone longing for that restoration. The whole song is a song about God and His work. So even using your flawed definition of spiritual songs...

music that brings us to think scriptural thoughts about scriptural subjects

...this rock song still qualifies.
But in your mind, I guess they are the gospel. If so, that is ridiculous.
They are not the gospel. They speak of the gospel. I've said before...once you understand the difference, you'll see how everything is a shadow of Christ and His work. You'll see it in music. You'll see it in movies. You'll see it in relationships. You'll see it in nature. You'll see it everywhere. (Col 1-2)
BTW, I did answer.  I said I could show you multiple songs that are anti-God and anti-family, etc.  Would you like for me to do that?  You know I can.  Do you defend those songs?
Do you know what a fallacy of composition is?

When you say stupid stuff and misrepresent people, expect it to follow you. You are not obligated to post. This is a good topic. Your continued blame game of antinomianism will be challenged.

So... we get a junior high tirade from someone who claims to be biblical. Is this the reaction of a person who has an overwhelming biblical argument?

I don't smoke, but I don't believe it's sinful, so I'll use smoking as an example.

Imagine three people, on all outward appearances, all of them seem alike.  They all claim to be Christians.  They all lead relatively normal lives.  One of them smokes.  The other two do not.

Now suppose that if you could read their minds, you'd discover one of them is just a white-washed tomb.

I'd bet you 10 to 1 it wouldn't be the smoker.

Smoking is not a sin.  Why do Fundies constantly harp on it?

Because they're obsessed with outward appearances.  And there is no end to it.  The pastor at the first Baptist church I ever attended actually preached a sermon about how it's important to keep your lawn neatly mowed as a Christian testimony to your neighbors.

Hopefully he added that it shouldn't be done on Sunday.  Wouldn't want to ruin that testimony, would we?

Lots of folk make their family an idol, it doesn't surprise me that you might do the same.

Everythibg you said is ridiculous.  Have at it, rsc2, listen to your music while you can now.  Get you some Black Sabbath, Jimmy Page, AD/DC, and live it up, because it's the only heaven you will ever see with that crap.

Wow! You keep stepping in it... I'd like to see your biblical rationale for calling the time I spend with my family, idolatry.

I am not bragging, but I will give you a taste of my family life. Not because I have to, but because I want to demonstrate that your judgmental spirit and shallow legalism does you no good.

I am fortunate enough to have my family with me 24/7. I am able to make significant money with a couple of emails and a couple of phone calls. This gives me the flexibility to go anywhere and do anything I want with my family. I just made a significant sale today that took 10 minutes of my time. I was standing on the top of Lookout Mountain in Alabama, conducting business. This flexibility has given us the ability to travel all over the US. We are able to visit landmarks, nearly every day. We visit different churches every week. This Spring and Summer, we will be helping a couple of church plants this year with their building. I am able to give more than ever to my home church.

My kids are much better off with this situation than if my wife and I were both working outside the home. I understand our economy forces many families to have to do that. I have been there. God gave me the opportunity to be able to work out of that situation. I am thankful to God that my wife can devote all of her time to the education of our children and I can help my clients and sell my stuff. My "excessive" time with my family, though very rare, is indeed a wonderful experience.

I am the very definition of a "family idolator." Unfortunately, it is a phrase used by manipulative pastors who think a spiritual family with correct priorities is one that attends 5 services a week. I have a friend that taught this "family idolatry" stuff for years. His family is a trainwreck today because of his many church programs. My family has a proper view of the church's importance AND the importance of family.

Family Idolatry? Pish, posh! You are a silly little dolt.

Again... when you say stupid stuff, don't expect it to be left unchallenged.
