He really doesn’t like women. I think we’re clear on that. I have a buddy who got burned by his wife decades ago and he’s still not over it, despite the fact that he now admits he treated her like garbage and was a terrible husband. He got married when he was still a teen and the marriage only lasted for about five years. He’s in his 50s now and still brooding. Meanwhile, his ex got remarried, had another kid and moved on with life. He’s never remarried and still harboring anger and bitterness over a relationship that ended three decades ago. Sad and pathetic.

people on these forums have known me for over 20 years now... .. they know my name .. my adopted family 2 of which were members here before.... .. they know where i;m from... ..the church i attend... . they even know my past history from before i was saved......... all anyone here knows about you is that you showed up a couple of years ago as an anonymous spoof posting cut and paste articles... and spounting conspiracy theories......... so if you want to claim some kind of authority here where i;m concerned you are wasting your time.... ...

we know very well women can be abusers.... my mother was among the worse of them..... the very spawn of hell.... i wrote about her here many years ago... .... but according to what you wrote in the post i quoted.... yours wasn;t much different.....

Well, I can’t speak for you because we’ve never met, but I can speak for my friend of nearly twenty years because I’ve heard his stories a thousand times. He was actually the abusive one in the relationship—not physically, but he’s admitted he was emotionally and mentally toward her.

Oh, and for the record, I have no incentive in “scoring points” with the “dove.” I’ve never met her either. She’s been pretty open about her background, so maybe bear some of that in mind when you communicate with her. That’s all I have to say about that.

Sacrifice was the reason Israel was brought out of Egypt:

Exodus 3:18 - And they shall hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath met with us: and now let us go, we beseech thee, three days' journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.​

It was the purpose of the tabernacle, and of the temple, and it was the function of the priesthood. It was also the mode of worship of the Israelite, the identity of the Israelite, and reason for the land of Israel.

As Christ is the sacrifice for sin, it ended all sacrifice. Now believers are the priests, and the temple, and the land.

So what profit is there now in the study of the law?

In a way, but mostly learning of Christ, and what was accomplished in the work of Redemption.

Those things weren't the work of Redemption. They just preached it in great detail in pictures.

As far as optics and outward appearances are concerned, the symbol and the reality are nothing alike.

And that's why trying to say tanks are the firebreathing lion-horses, and that helicopters are the locusts, because John was trying to describe the outward appearance of things is inconsistent with the way the Holy Spirit has operated at least since the Exodus, and is an unbiblical hermeneutic.
