Since it is commonplaces in churches like that to pull the wool over the eyes of people, I was looking for "World's Only Jackalope" or "World's Largest Snipe" on one of those plaques...

I was going to ask if he had a Hacker mount but for somereason it didn't sound right.  :)

If so, he would have pulled it from one of the tunnels...

So has Keith given up on soul winning in Elgin?

Oh forget it.............he didn't mention the story of being a witness to the uttermost parts of the earth......just the stories of where he got his trophies.

Now does anyone know if all of these mounts are Gomez'. Were some of them donated. If they all belong to KG he has a lot of spare time and spare money. Some of these hunts are expensive.

More than half of them belong to another guy, a money man.

KG wife was a virgin when they got married.

I never knew this man because I was long gone before he came to HAC. I cannot understand any husband saying this of his wife, because he is also saying that he wasn't.

Gomez's first wife passed away.  This is his second wife.

He was also counseled by older pastors that should he remarry, he should marry either another pastor's widow or else a virgin.  Lo, and behold, the Lord had a 40 (or was she 44 at the time?  I think there's a "Hellywood" movie called "The 40 Year Old Virgin". ) year old virgin right there in his church sitting in front of him week after week.

The story is kinda sweet to hear him tell it......other than at the time I heard it, he mentioned her age and her virginity multiply times.  She was sitting just two rows in front of me, and I just felt like I should go put my arm around her.  Later, during the invitation, Mrs. Buchanan (who was also there) came across the auditorium and stood by her and walked out with her.

My question is how did he know she was a virgin?

This is not the kind of thing a gentleman should be discussing in public.

Very coarse and inappropriate.

IMHO

It was rather COARSE, of course, but she was an unmarried (and never had been married) female church member.  I guess he could have called her a spinster or old maid.

That's all fine and dandy.  Buuuuuut, why would he broadcast this?  Why would anyone counsel a man in his 50's to marry a virgin?  I'm sorry but that is just to intrusive..............WHO CARES!!!! if she was or wasn't?  That is no ones business.  Why humiliate the poor lady?

But, this is the side of the IFB that really believes that they are to micromanage a persons entire life.  They leave no room for the Holy Spirit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When he was at HAC he was known as an arrogant proud punk loudmouth bully.

I had hoped that as he got older he would learn to be a Christian gentleman, alas, it was not to be.

I'm not sure where you get your information.  It seems you are always negative on all things HAC/FBCH.  You sometimes have good, valid points.  Other times you seem to creative negativity.  If I am misreading you, I apologize.

I was at HAC with Gomez.  He came as a married student.  I believe he had already been an assistant at his home church.  While I can see at the time why someone might look at him as arrogant, I don't believe he was a "proud, punk, loudmouth bully".  I think he heard and saw some things at HAC with which he did not agree.  He was always friendly and gracious to other students.

As the years have past I think his success has inflated his arrogance.  Fishinnut knew Gomez well while he was at HAC.  I know he is not a Gomez fan at this time, but he may be able to shed light on your comments.

I knew him as a FBCH member, but many family members were HAC students when he was.

Those are my impressions of him based on my families interaction with him.

I have a large family and there were many stories told to me at our family gatherings.

Family members knew him and had lots of interaction with him.

Again, this is how he came off to me and mine.

I was at his church once after Bro. Hyles died, maybe April 2001.

I can best describe him from that time as a jerk in the pulpit. I saw it first hand.

He went off on a rant, Bro. Hyles is dead, get over it. I was so embarrassed at his verbiage.

He was mercilessly castigating his members for missing Bro. Hyles and saying so, after all he was their Managawd,

not Bro. Hyles.

I would never attend his church again, for any reason.

Of course this is just my humble opinion.
