Actually I was hoping those here who speak Trumpian Chess would help the rest of us understand how this isn't offensive to the cause of Christ. Obviously using the Holiest day of the calendar to get a few shots in at political opponents must be acceptable to God. After all only sanctimonious people would see any hint of a misuse the remembrance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I have to think that It won't be long and communion cups will have Trump logos.Only you, of all posters, have the moral

It’s not my place, position or obligation to ‘defend him on anything he says or does’.Actually I was hoping those here who speak Trumpian Chess would help the rest of us understand how this isn't offensive to the cause of Christ. BTW I noticed no one has made any attempt to defend his atrocious Easter "greeting". Much easier to get upset at me for putting it in the middle of the dinner table next to the ham. Easter being the very cornerstone of the redemption story I of the opinion that his "sincere greeting" is a blasphemous use of Biblical truth.
Oh, and as for me I will just quote Job.
Mock on.
But it is your place, position and obligation to mock me when I post evidence of indefensible behavior by our president. Are you unable to speak to the issue itself? No need for you to defend him. Rather I would hope that you would speak out against his actions. It’s not my place, position or obligation to ‘defend him on anything he says or does’.
Seems I hit a nerve…

Many times I have been told that he has support here only because of his policies and his behaviors are irrelevant. This is a bright clear line that has been crossed. It is relevant to the reputation of the conservative evangelical church. He should be hearing from all quarters of how out of line he was. His lady pastor should be on record by now with a statement. His lackeys in evangelical leadership who have excused him for past boorishness should be openly rebuking him. The silence is deafening. What he said is indefensible. Why is it not being called out for what it is? Can no one step past the political risks to speak in defense of the integrity of the Gospel? Where are the great men and women of God willing to take a stand against this?
Yes. It is that bad.
