Is this forum going to be all nice and feminine like the "Friendly" forum?

There should be some "friendly" debates but I hope we don't have any Demon Dixon or TGL here. They contribute nothing of any real value.
Agreed! And Dixon is not even a real poster: he's an atheist troll who jacks us up for lulz. Why would we need that?

In order to be successful long term, this Forum needs both protagonists and antagonists.
IHHO, that is why the other 'wannabes' have failed.

We need the ability to have a good old 'lightly moderated' free for all.
And, in order to do that, we need a few i-dots!
And they know who they are.... :D

I agree...we have to have the idiots. but at the same time they can't be allowed to take over and spam this forum to death...it is a delicate balance!

I agree. Idiots in small numbers are funny and liven things up.

Idiots in large numbers make for a sanitorium.

Or is somebody gonna being Deacon Dixon and The Glory Land over so we have someone to get mad at and fight with?

Hey Bob...seems like your question is being answered ...  :D

From reading all the various posts in the different categories, it reminds me of the handshaking time at the uptown baptist church before the business meeting starts. Lots of nice - nice and smiles until someone brings up the business at hand ---  So who is going to be brave enough to call the meeting to order ?

There's nothing like a church business meeting to vote on the color of the new carpet. Whew!

Which makes me wonder why churches allow the monkeys to vote on such trivial things. Our church just bought a bunch of carpet and laid it. Problem solved.

Exactly.

A real man of God tells his church what color the carpet is going to be.  If they don't like that then they can hit the road!

Carry on.

Well, I could always start one of my tedious rants about why praise song lyrics are a bunch of namby pamby gobbly-gook that at their best are generally an incoherent collection of abstract adjectives and at their worst an irreverent self-aggrandizement that tries to put God on a leash, but only if people are really, really bored with the staid nature of this forum.  ;)

Sounds good to me.
