Hypocrisy on the Left!

I'm more interested where Jesus said we should shoot people who try to take our stereo...

Thank you for the passages.  I did read them in the KJV.  I am puzzled how an illustration by Jesus showing how he is not casting out demons by Satan's power can be used to show that most homeowners are armed.  I do not know you so you maybe just be goofing off, if you are serious I would disagree with your view of the text.
I said :"Jesus assumed that homeowners are armed" , or else that wouldn't have been a good illustration for Him to use.

I'd like to see the interview pre-screening form that you have prospective robbers fill out, as they break into your property.  'Are you here for :A. My stereo  B. My t.v. C. My life or D. All of the above  please check all that apply.'  You phony.

Am I the Holy Spirit?  Read the 4 Gospels through, in the King James Bible,  asking  God for wisdom concerning armed homeownership.  He it is which shall guide you into all truth.

Why does it have to be a KJB? Why not a NIV?,NLT? They are after all, translations from the originals
To even look apon just one of the accursed pages of the NIV will damn you to hell!!!!! ???

Prophet is just looking out for your very soul. Heed the word of the Prophet... ;D

No one was necessarily armed those passages you provided. Furthermore, you pretty much violated every rule of sound hermeneutics if you insist on reading parables that way.

- If someone broke in to take my stereo, I would let them have it before I would attempt to cause them any permanent physical harm.
- If someone came in to kill me, I might allow it before I would attempt to cause them lethal harm. (I haven't been in that situation, but ethically, that is where I think I land.)
- If someone came in to harm my family, I would defend them with what I thought the force necessary to remove the threat was without causing further harm.

I take that whole "love your enemies" and "pray for those who curse you" thing seriously.

There certainly is Biblical precedent for using deadly force in the defense of home invasion.

Exo 22:2  If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.

I forget which city/state has this law, but there is a law out there that requires thieves to notify their future victims 24 hours in advance before stealing their property.

I can just imagine a phone call now... "Excuse me, but I plan to rob your house tonight.  I'm sorry for the short notice.  I meant to call 24 hours in advance, but something came up.  So I hope you won't report me for being late.  Thank you."

My thoughts on how I would deal with a break-in have evolved over the years.  Before my son was born, a robber could have taken anything, as long as he didn't open my bedroom door.  But, at that exact point, I would take my home protection pistol and shoot them dead.

After my son was born, my thoughts changed.  I could no longer afford to sit up in bed with my gun pointed at the door, I would have to actively protect him, all the way on the other side of the house.  No mercy.  You come in my house, you leave in a body bag.

Praise God, I've had much stolen from me since my husband died, but never while anyone was home.  Now, it's more likely that my son will protect me.  I'm a good shot, but he's a much better one.

Missed the part about being armed...you still violated sound hermeneutic principles by reading the parable that way. And you still haven't pointed to anywhere where Jesus said you should kill someone to hold onto your stereo. (Although, thinking about it, He did say something about what you should do if someone tries to take your coat...and in instruction a wee bit more definitive than a narrative portion of a parable.)

And the next verse?
You don't see a man defending his 'goods' with weapons, in the above verse?
I also see Lot pimping out his daughters, Saul calling on the services of a witch, Jonah blatantly ignoring the commands of God, Peter denying Christ, Judas denying Him, and Paul murdering Christians.
It doesn't mean I am in favor of their actions, but I recognize context.

How Christlike...

But I guess if your Jesus would be fine with taking someone down (preferably with a loaded clip) just because they happen to be after your 60" big screen, He doesn't really look like the Jesus in the Bible anyways.
Lot didn't pimp out his daughters, he handed them over ,out of cowardice.
I said "Jesus assumed homeowners were 'armed'", and defended their 'goods', and used this societal norm as a comparison, in a lesson.  Armed defense = killing, because home invasion = killing.  Check the laws in your state, home invasion carries the same penalty as murder1 in most of them.
If I came in your house, and stuck a pistol in your face, and took your stuff....you'd call the police on me. They would show up armed.  They would apprehend me,  and I would face the same penalty as a murderer.  You'd let someone else, who you pay to represent you, carry the arms.                                    You are a phony.  Jesus never called religious teachers/ leaders phony... oh except for the 14 times in Matthew.

I have often noted this hypocrisy also exists on the religious left.
SOME of those who constantly ridicule the fundys for their intolerance, judgementalism, and name calling use the same tactics on the fundys.....

;)
