Really sad. I predicted Schaap would ruin the church and college within 10 years.

A powerful chapel message today by Dr. Ray Young. Full altars during the invitation. Chapel is the heartbeat of Hyles-Anderson College.

Look at that massive crowd. Maybe a couple of hundred.

Day one:  we have located the rebels and they are in their usual place - standing in the back row refusing to yield to God during the invitation.  8)

Rip his face off!!

Have the seats under the balcony been removed?  What about the organ?  I don't see either in the pictures.

There is no permanent seating on the lower floor, it is all padded individual non attached chairs.

The spacing can be changed in according style to always make it look fuller.

Last time I was there they did not have any chairs under the balcony.

The organ is located against the front wall in the NW corner of the room. It is sitting on the floor.

I was there a few weeks ago.
There were no chairs/pews in the back
The main floor rows started at the edge of the balcony
The organ was not there or at least in the usual spot. There was seating for an orchestra though, 10 chairs or so.
The amen section was gone.
I don't remember there being a staff/faculty section either ( the area that mirrored the amen section.)
The back wall was filled with pics of dr evans.
We did a quick talley and there were ........ 700 maybe 750 chairs that are removable on the main floor. This lines up with dr young telling me they're planning on about 650 students thus year.

On a side note, PCC enrolled 2k freshman enroll this year. That is not a mistype.

I feel some clever remark on the tip of my tongue but I can't find it. :P

PCC rocks in an wholesome, non-secular way.  Just there this past Saturday/Sunday dropping one of those freshmen.  First class facilities-more of what a christian college should look like. HAC-Berean-and other IFB colleges attached to their home churches with limited majors are nothing more than young adult Sunday school classes with sleep overs.

650 maybe with online.... they did not even hit 500 students on-site this year, which was their goal.

So...HAC isn't one of those schools that requires women on one side and men on the other?

BAM!!  :)  That will leave a mark.

A girl from our church went to Crown, she was a sheltered girl and it was a big step for her parents to send her, she loved it and said it was like Youth Conference everyday!!  If I send my kids to College, I want them to get a great education!!

Saw pics of another girl from my church who is currently at PCC. Her and a friend when canoeing. Guess PCC is lax on their standards/rules now! She was in a one piece and at the river there were more than just girls there!

We have several kids from our church at PCC.  I don't know if the standards/rules have changed, but I agree that they are "lax".  I see FB photos quite often with the type thing that you mentioned.  There is definitely no "six inch rule".

Doesnt bother me about the one piece, or mixed swimming. Just thought it was funny that she "got away" with it, or that I guess it was accepted now.

This year our church has one at West Coast, and two at PCC, O at HAC!! All the graduating senior last year are going to secular Universities.

I was an 18 year old male.  The mixed swimming at a Christian college does bother me.

PCC does not allow it. Kids are stupid to put that stuff on Facebook. But...kids will be kids. They are young adults and they are going to find a way to do what they want to do. You wouldn't believe the stuff that HAC students find a way of doing. You can have all the rules you want, but kids are gonna do what kids are gonna do. The problem we are faced with today in our young people is a heart issue. The IFB as a whole lost sight of teaching us to have a heart for God. It was all yelling, screaming, lists of do's and dont's with no understanding, and leadership that didn't live what they preached. What we have is a generation of young people who don't trust spiritual leadership and who never developed a personal relationship with Christ. They didn't need one. They only needed to have a relationship with their youth pastor or pastor. When those kids go to college and don't have those people to please, they have nothing left. So they do what they want. I've seen it over and over and over again.

Thank you for the clarification.  I was hoping they had not "slipped" that far.

HAC doesn't allow unmarried students to go to houses or hotels together, but they still do. Some of them even post about it. But kids have gotten really really good at sneaking. They have been doing it their whole lives. Which brings me back to the heart issue.

We all know this, but HAC is not the same place it was when we went there in the early 80's. It's not even the same place it was 10 years ago.
