RAIDER said:I don't remember the year of the vehicle, but my first car at HAC was a Ford Maverick.
An automotive classic.
Didn't it have a "shelf" instead of a glovebox?

It had an 8-track player in it. I kept a copy of Dallas Holm and Praise Rise Again hidden. We listened to it over-and-over again on the way to and from FBCH.
prophet said:I had an '89 Dodge Omni.
It was a throw away Iacoca special, with a 2.2 litre fuel injected 4 cyl., 5 spd manny tranny.
I let someone borrow it, on a Sat.
They let someone else drive it.
Monday morning, a friend whose car wouldn't come out of reverse, was stuck at a bank on 30 n Robin Hood.
I drove there, to push my friend's '88 Taurus back to HAC.
Halfway back, my car overheated.
Checked the oil, it had none...idiot probably drove it in 1 gear all over North Chicago.
Anyway, head was blown.
So....
TRB drove his Taurus backwards ,pushing my omni, a good 3 miles to the campus.
We looked like the circus coming to town, im sure.
Low oil causes superheating.Twisted said:prophet said:I had an '89 Dodge Omni.

Good times (probably not so good at the time).
I'm curious, when my car overheats, I check the coolant. What made you check the oil?
I didn't remember what that model looked like, so here....

Recommend you always have a cassette copy of Fresh Oil in the glove box for times like that.
