HAC Alumni Meeting

I did attend the meeting and it was a very enjoyable time. JW is going to be a great pastor at Fbc.
He knows he has a lot of tough decisions ahead and he's not affraid to make tough choices.

I love the sound of that!

How about a little more information on what was covered?

It was very general in content that was addressed. He talked about the college's purpose and he gave a brief vision. Not a lot different from Dr. Hyles' vision. 2 things he addressed were that there would be no intercollegiate athletics in the near future and that the majors would return to requiring Church Education 5 days a week. Other than that it was a get to know time. I was impressed by JW's ability to remember names. I had not seen him in 15 years yet he remembered me and called me by my first name. And when Pastors were introduced, we didn't have to introduce ourselves, he did it for us. And he gave some kind of story to go along with each man. He even remembered cutting my hair. LOL

I was also impressed with Steve Froelke. It seems they now have an alumni director who is concerned with all alumni, not just a few guys with big churches. And it seems like that he wants the job as alumni director, not just wanting to use it as a stepping stone to something else. I came away thinking I might now actually get letters from the HAC Alumni office.

I spent some time talking with Bro. Stuart Mason the new President. I came away impressed that this man can be successful at rebuilding the college.

So it was a good night. About 100 were there. And it was a gathering of alumni from across the years. The 70's, 80's, 90's, and recent years were all represented.

The school's colors have changed. From green and white to now Maze and Blue. Don't know who signed off on that one but my U of M apparel will now double for HAC apparel.

I've talked to Steve and he has really reached out to former students...........he has a good heart for people!!

Seriously, the school's colors are now the colors of heaven?  Maize and blue?  I am thinking of writing a donation check.

P.S. Are you who I think you are,  Tennesseean?

Do you think you know who I am. Laughed at that one. Am I am Angel? Who knows? Ransomed? Could be? I'll just keep the identity to myself for a while.

All right now, don't assume. How do you know I didn't board my private jet and fly to the meeting? I will say this, I know who you are.

Did any of you northerners attend the Alumni Meeting?  Can you give us some play by play of the highlights? Pastor Hobbins & his father are great guys. Have not see them in a very long time.

I met the daughter of Pastor Hobbins my freshman year and have remained friends ALL.THESE.YEARS.

And I know....that is a long time.
