Since there is a lull in the love fest, let's talk about ourselves.  What do you do for a living?  Where is the favorite place you've lived or visited?  Own or rent?  Just answer the basics, like you answer on a basic census form.  ;)

I think the 2000 census form actually inquired into the number of bathrooms in our house.

I work from home.........

south Florida

own my home

2 bathrooms

pets : 1 female doberman, 1 conure bird, 2 cockatiels

I'm so thankful for my church and pastor

I dispatch taxicabs, build and fix computers and teach martial arts. Between the three of them I sorta kinda earn a living.

I live in the Seattle area.  I used to belong to an AoG church, but found too much cognitive dissonance between conservative evangelical politics and culture and my own beliefs. I'm with an Episcopal church now. I'm working on getting back into college and finishing my BA.

I was married long ago but it didn't work out. Neither of us were Christians at the time, and we were both too young and stupid. I haven't found a suitable candidate for a second try, and I'm very used to being on my own now. I don't rule it out, I just don't expect it.

I rent a 2 room living space in a big house. I have a home office and a bedroom, have to share the kitchen amd bathroom. That's ok, we all get along.

I drive an old Ford Crown Vic cop car, but don't drive it much. I walk, run or bike as much as I can. I've been hoping to upgrade to my first ever new vehicle, a small SUV maybe, but still can't afford it.

I have no pets myself, but a dog and a cat live here, and I have petting privileges.

I work at a family run real estate office in South Florida. I attend the same Baptist church as Sherryh and her hubby! I have four children, two boys and two girls. My oldest girl is a 5th grade reading teacher in the public school-soon to be a 3rd grade reading teacher! My second daughter just graduated Saturday with a Bachelors in Science for Accounting, she is already signed up to do her grad work at FAU. My oldest son is a sophomore in South Carolina trying physical therapy. My youngest son is a sophomore in our local Christian School. We have two dogs, a white one and the devil dog!

Looking for a church. Helping with church builds.

What brought you to traveling the country?  What states have you been in and what are their highlights?  Growing up we had a tent trailer and we traveled all over Michigan, Kentucky, North Carolina,Virginia. My husband thinks camping is at a resort hotel..........LOL! God bless you and your family!! Are you keeping a journal? I'm sorry about all the questions.

What brought you to traveling the country?
In a series of unfortunate events due to Michigan's economy, we went bankrupt and foreclosed on our house. In God's providence, two days after we were given the ultimatum by our mortgage company, He brought along a very stable opportunity with one of my websites.

This is something we always wanted to do, so I bought a used travel trailer. Since we have homeschooled our kids from day one and my business is 100% internet-based, this was our opportunity.

We are fortunate enough to give our kids exposure to the National Parks and history. Today we are visiting Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma. The Indian cultural centers are very educational.

We are also connected to a church building ministry and travel to their sites to help them in their building programs.

What states have you been in and what are their highlights?
--In the two years we have done this, we have only been to 16 states. In the winter, we need to hug the Gulf Coast so that we do not freeze. I asked the girls, after traveling through Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida, where they wanted to spend their winter this year. Without hesitation, they all said, "Gulf Shores State Park." So, we stayed there from Dec through Mar. We end up staying an average of a month in each state.

Highlights are way too many to list, so here is our blog: www.atlantic2pacific.com. I have been negligent with it for a couple of months. :D

Growing up we had a tent trailer and we traveled all over Michigan, Kentucky, North Carolina,Virginia.
--That is how we got our start. We traveled throughout Michigan for a whole summer in 2010 to see if I could truly be mobile. With technology today, I can do everything I could do in my home office.

We have yet to visit North Carolina and Virginia.

Thank you for your answers...............We are also losing our home....I understand your decisions I only wish we could have met when you come back this way contact us please...

Uggh! With the mortgage bailouts in 2010, mortgage companies will not work with you.

I was 45 days out and they would not accept one month's payment. They demanded both.

It is a viscious cycle. We will be praying for you as you wrestle with all the emotions and hoops you have tonjum through!

Make sure to check with your state laws. Almost every state has added special laws since the housing decline in 2008. You want to make sure that the mortgage company isnt just trying to bully you. There are ways in every state to keep them from foreclosing in order to give yourself time to catch up. The unfortunate thing is most people to don't know, have access to the information, or can't afford to pay someone that understands the legal jargon to help them out.

I know that each state is different. Texas after 30 days they send you a letter and if nothing has changed 30 days later the sheriff shows up.  However, Massachusetts can take up to 2 years and when the sheriff shows up to evict you he will have a check from the mortgage company for $5,000 so you can relocate. These are just two examples.

Wow, I didn't realize so many others lost their houses.  My credit still stinks.  It's going to take a long while to recover.

I'll have to ask my Pastor if it's OK to give out my information.  :D

The sad part about this is you understand what's really important and a house can always be replaced...We paid a lawyer to help us and that was a waste of monies ..........we finally decided to get it go and we will be relocating soon. I really learned to let go and let God..........I'm a cancer survivor and I didn't want this to take me down. God has been there all the way........

Thank you for your words of wisdom............We've learned alot ...we paid a lawyer monies we didn't have to help us and that was a big loss. Our lawyer now is very helpful...
