I can't guess why but the resemblance, both in appearance and character / bearing is uncanny. You have a knack for this!

Thank you,

Actually Margaret Hamilton was a really nice lady. She was one of the first to be alarmed at the way MGM was treating Judy Garland and went and complained to Louis B. Mayer.

Jane Russell as Elaine Colsten?

Not my first choice...

I tried to cast each character with a Hollywood legend who would bring out the part. Jane Russell would be a great choice to portray Elaine Colsten. Not really well known is that Jane Russell was an accomplished pianist and very musically inclined. I suggest you rent and watch "Paleface" and "Son of Paleface," and perhaps you'll agree why she would be a good fit for Elaine Colsten.

Featuring famous IFB pastors in bit parts

Robin Williams would have been a perfect Larry Brown but since he's no longer with us, we've cast the great comedian Gallagher as Larry Brown. Brown has cited that Gallagher and Jack Hyles were his inspiration.

John Goodman as Tony Hutson
Burt Reynolds as Jack Trieber
Robert Duval as Jim Voneyard
Tim Robins as Tom Vineyard
Samo Hung as Alvin Martinez.

Directed and produced by Matt Crouch, TBN, and the PTL Club.

Since Hollywood seems to be in a bit of a narcisstic melt-down  :) I thought it would be fun to fantisize for a moment---if the story of First Baptist Church Hammond and Hyles Anderson College were to be made into a motion picture, who would play the leading roles. I'll start...

Jack Hyles played by Stephen Collins
Jack Schaap played by Pee Wee Herman
Beverly Hyles played by Meryl Streep (hey, she's played everybody else)
Cindy Schaap played by Lindsay Lohan

Any takers?

I'll need some more time on this, but right away I'm thinking perhaps Gary Busey as Wendell Evans.
