Did Abraham "pimp" his wife?

Sarah wasn't above pimping out Abraham either.

A good husband would make her remain quiet.

It was a common custom of that time to gift the family of a potential wife. Pharoah was bring nice to the family.

Was it common for God-fearing people to allow their wives to be sexually abused?

No matter how much you don't like the word "pimp," you have not offered any descriptive word for Abraham's actions. <enter the sugar coating>

Methinks PY has the understanding that for "pimp" & "whore" Abraham had to have a yellow suit and a cane and Sarah had to be wearing high heels and short shorts. Nuance is often lost on people like him.  BUT, he does a lot of surmising about Abraham that the Bible doesn't tell us. He could be right about those things or could just as easily be wrong.

The Scriptures didn't say Abraham was a pimp and Sarah was a whore. Yet, you have taken this NUTS side. You've done it soley based on the fact you don't like me. I don't care if you like me. You're wasting your time not liking me. I don't base my theology on "friends". I base it on the Truth.

God would have preserved him and Sarah. Why do you have so little faith?

I am not above ANY potential sinful activity in this world. Neither was Abraham. This is a silly thread. Who cares how Abraham's failure is described. He allowed, on two, premeditated occasions other men to violate his wife.

What does "violate" mean?

Abraham knew that by letting them take Sarah to the King that she would likely be added to the harem.  He also knew that meant that she would be expected to provided sexual services to the king. So by "allowing" her to be turned over to the Egyptians, he was for all intents and purposes "allowing" them to violate her. That does not automatically mean that they did violate her, only that Abraham allowed for it to happen (in fact he was expecting it to happen). And they would have had God not intervened.

Basically he said, hey honey go take one for the team.

Who wrote this? You or FSSL? I don't remember reading this from him.

Abraham didn't know that Sarah would be taken by the King. He just suspected it was possible. He only asked that Sarah say she was his sister. Which, is really a half truth. I have said it was a lie but she was his half sister. Again. I am not saying it wasn't a lie. I was. This is the only thing that Abraham did.

Do you see where God confronted Abraham over his sin in this request? Just show me where God demands Abraham repent for his actions.

Abraham wasn't a pimp. Sarah wasn't a willing or unwilling accomplish to getting some "strange" from the King of Egypt.

They did the only thing they could under the circumstances. God intervened. In fact, It worked out perfectly.
