You can purchase a brand spanking new one for the bargain basement price of 79.98!

For $80 bucks that's likely one of Dave's own private copies. I'm sure for that price he'll sign it and ....
???
Say no more!

Dave Hyles giving marriage advice????

That's like

Jack Schaap leading a Girl Scout troop

Tony Hutson trying to go on a diet

Larry Brown being a television repairman

Jim Vineyard being a hunting guide

Jack Trieber attending a CCM concert

Phil Kidd being intelligent

Jack Hyles allowing a CCM concert at FBCH

Again you know nothing....
Hyles liked CCM.
You name a Southern Gospel Group, that released their music publicly, from his era, and he liked it.
He used to "sing" with a mock Southern Gospel quartet every New Year's Eve.
At some point he decided he didnt like the new music coming out, but it wasn't a principle, and it wasnt til the early 80's.

Anishinabe

Listening to Dave Hyles give marriage advice is like....listening to Alvin Martinez sing.... :-X

To each his own.

Where is Dave and how come he didn't get the keys to the Cadillac instead of his brother-in-law?

Nope

So why didn't Dave (Jackie Jr.) get the Crystal Cathedral? Did the Pope/Hyles like Schaap more??

Because he defiled too many deacons daughters.

JH came as close to being thrown out over Dave as he did at any other time during his tenure at FBCH.

Some of those were pretty good. However, vineyard is a combat decorated Special Forces Vet. I've seen him shoot. That man can hunt men and beast. Make no bones about it.

I don't know if you are this Martinez guy or not. However just a nickels worth of free advice. Most of the folks on here have been thru the same stuff in the same place, sometimes decades apart. That being said, if we like Hyles or not, think he was guilty, innocent or In-between, love or loathe that we were there, that place is a part of us to one degree or another and when someone, well intended, gets facts out of order, you will suffer the wrath from both sides of the aisle. I would speak to the things you know from personal experience and if you can't, don't refer to You Tube videos or stories you've heard from others. Hyles is/was special to most of us at one point in our lives. We like to think we knew him and when you put alleged facts out there, it doesn't earn you any brownie points or build your credibility on the forum.

Buddy, I like Alvin Martinez. He has a great voice and a great testimony even though it is not really my type of music. (I am more the Jimmy Swaggart type when it comes to music) However, your infatuation with him is a little bit creepy.

Well sadly Darrel Dow bans people who talk about Alvin Martinez on his sight and he bans people who defend Jack Hyles/Jack Schaap.

But seriously, Bro. Martinez is a blessed singer.

I believe that there is something wrong with this guy right here.

Give him a break, he's just trying to sell a few of his CD's...

Incidentally though, Trieber get a good percentage of all the records being sold. It's no secret Trieber want Bro. Martinez to keep making records.

I wonder if he is on the bubble figuratively speaking since MZ seems to have trained him.

I didn't realize that anyone made records anymore. Where do I buy a 'record' player?

Someplace with a name like "Vintage Stock" or the antique store.  ;)

Bro Martinez also credit Jack Trieber for his success. Bro Martinez was married previously in the Philippines and was a background singer for many popular Filipino artists. This was before he converted. Since then he's remarried and been a great part of the ministry.

As for records/CD's, Jim Vineyard refers to CD's as records since he's old school like that.

Wasn't there a service at FBCH where Larry Brown took a baseball bat and smashed a bunch of CCM CD's calling it "Devil's Muscic." I'm not sure if it was at a conference at FBCH or elsewhere but that story does sound true since Brown loved doing improv comedy.

Don't know about that, but I do remember Dean Meister smashing some cassette tapes with a hammer at a split chapel.
