150 pounds of crawdads = about 3 pounds of meat, right?

that;s the beautiful thing about tako... .... no bones... no shells... .. just chop em up and boil em.. . . you just gotta watch out for those tentacles and not let them bite you with their razor sharp beak .. while your spearing them and putting them in the bag... ...
which reminds me..... i;m a little surprised after reading posters describe how they eat crawdads and enjoy the juices in the head, that some saw my picture of tako poke' and thought it looked disgusting.... :-\

They must carry a lifetime supply of ink!!! I do enjoy squid, but only if it's julienne'd and deep-fried in a batter. I've never had octopus, though.
Is it pig hunting season for you?
it;s always pig hunting season here.... ... year round... . . the pig population reduction program is still going on full force... . the overall numbers of them haven;t dropped that much.. .. but they haven;t been growing any either..... .. .. we are actually planning to go tomorrow morning to hunt a high rainforest area above the remote north shore area...... . .. it will be fun whether we actually kill a pig or not... .. but if we do get one it will all the better... ..

So? How did the hunt go?
it went good... .. super hot and steamy during the day then it rained really hard at night....typical rain forest weather.. . . we ended up staying over night and my dad got really big boar the next morning... . .not sure how much it weighed coz we gutted it before taking it back to camp... but i think it was well over 100 pounds.. . too big for me to back pack.. so my dad carried it back... . the kalua pork from it took up all the extra space we had left in both our freezers plus we gave away a lot of it.... .
