BTW, what is the origin of "First" or "Second" as the first word in the name of a church?  Is the answer as simple as it seams or is there more to it?

In Winchester, Kentucky we have two First Baptist Churches.

We also have Eastside Baptist Church which touts itself as "The Church after God's Own Heart". Makes me laugh.

That would make for an expensive sign in front of the church!

Did a little digging around online and found out that many, many moons ago, the church was located in a different city, and it indeed was on the south side of town. After a fire pretty much destroyed the church, members voted to build a new building on a bigger plot of land at the place they're currently located. A name changed was proposed, but the people wanted to keep the "South Side" name because it was a well respected church and they wanted to keep the name for easy recognition.
