With taxes and spending going to support the liberal agenda, can a Christian be a Californian?

"On September 27, 2022, Gov. Newsom signed what amounts to a perinatal infanticide bill, AB 2223 (along with 12 other pro-abortion bills). It prevents coroners from investigating the deaths 'related to or following known or suspected self-induced or criminal abortion,' including deaths of babies during the 'perinatal' period – which is up to 28 days after birth. The bill also protects individuals from criminal or civil liability for the death of an infant during the perinatal period, if the death is 'due to causes that occurred in utero.'

California bill SB 345 shields abortionists and medical staff who provide euphemistically termed “gender-affirming care” from criminal or civil liability for serving clients from states that have banned such procedures for minors. In short the state is positioning itself to become a transgender "sanctuary" where minor children can have their genitals amputated without parental consent.

Gavin Newsome also signed bills requiring schools to have all-gender restrooms and to train teachers to affirm LGBTQ-identifying students. Another new law punishes schools that “ban books” that many parents find objectionable.

Brown's signature on AB 775 already has triggered a series of lawsuits, because it forces religious pregnancy clinics to tell women and girls that California has public programs to provide immediate, free or low-cost abortions.

David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt of the Center for Medical Progress released more than a dozen videos showing Planned Parenthood executives discussing getting paid for the body parts of unborn children. Kamala Harris dispatched law enforcement officers to Daleiden's home to confiscate the undercover videos.

You could write a book on the depraved politics controlling California. There is a difference between paying your taxes and defending those who oppose everything wholesome or good. Many Christians live in California but they oppose a party that has morphed into what we now see.

What would "Johnny Mac" say?

Actually, he has said plenty about it and is not hard to find.

1 Cor 7:24 factors into this: "Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God."

We are commanded by Christ to "Render unto Caesar" without giving stipulations regarding what Caesar would do with it.

Yes. But they should not vote for the people who push the gender idiocy and other unbiblical policies..

It’s not hard to understand if you use common sense. Assuming one understands Biblical principles.

That's true. But neither does Christ forbid moving to another state where your tax money is put to better use.
Understood. One of the reasons why I left and moved back to Texas but this is an individual thing as the Lord is leading. Some have circumstances and obligations which preclude them from moving or perhaps it is simply because God has called them to remain in California?

As I said, MacArthur has addressed this ad nauseum saying that those who move out may get a few years reprieve but what is going on in California will likely spread nationwide! He has nothing against those who are fleeing the state but I'm certain he is convinced that God has called him to stay right where he is and likely most would agree with this!

Would God want some Christians to remain in California? I guess we could also ask if God wants Christians to remain in countries where persecution is prevalent and they will likely die? I am thinking this would be a yes for some while for others, God will use the scattering of Christians from such areas for the furtherancce of the Gospel?

I am currently stuck in southern California due to family, financial and medical reasons. I know California is passing a bunch of terrible laws as well as a few good laws. But I am stuck for the foreseeable future.

Bloom where you are planted!

1 Corinthians 7:24 - Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.

Yes, I recall that. Remember how he would defend California, saying it was not as liberal as people claimed? Wonder what he’d say now?😁

A fish can deny the existence of the sea only for so long...

Doc and I had been friends for many years. I used to see him and fellowship with him when he would come to the youth conclaves at Dr. Weniger's church in Bloomington/Normal Illinois. But, the last year or so of his life he became very distant and cut many people he knew off. I hated to see him declining. I'm thankful he's no longer in confusion and is with the Lord waiting for us to join him!
