How apropos.
Kudos to this "fundy" preacher for having courage to not become the boiling frog in the pot.

"We have all had a moment when all of a sudden we looked around and thought: The world is changing, I am seeing it change. This is for me the moment when the new America began: I was at a graduation ceremony at a public high school in New Jersey. It was 1971 or 1972. One by one a stream of black-robed students walked across the stage and received their diplomas. And a pretty young girl with red hair, big under her graduation gown, walked up to receive hers. The auditorium stood up and applauded. I looked at my sister:

[quote author=Bob L]Yet another example of an Xer preacher who actually believes he can evaluate someone's entire situation without knowing all the facts. Why, with one single glance, he judges and pronounces guilt.

It is this kind of decrepit Christianity that is sickening, and is the reason people are jumping ship and either totally getting out of these kind of moronic churches, or leaving to find one that has the true Spirit of Christ in it.

The saddest of all is that someone buys in to that crappola and posts it thinking it is worthy of expanding the Kingdom of Christ.

The author of the first quote was Ravi Zacharias, a real fundy Xer preacher alright.

You're such a sucker, and an idiot.

If you have a legitimate offense against an IFBx, then confront that situation and resolve it.  I wish some of you would see how BITTER  you are against anything that has the slightest odor of IFB;  it skews your reading comprehension, your thought process and your very soul.  Take time to look at the words of the quoted author:

"We as a society do not approve of teenaged unwed motherhood because it is not good for the child, not good for the mother and not good for us."

"The old America would not have applauded the girl in the big graduation gown, but some of its individuals would have helped her not only materially but with some measure of emotional support."

Also why do people throw out the bitterness card instead of facing the truth?

Probably for the same reason that people with a bad heart ignore obvious signs of a heart attack.  The symptoms of bitterness are obvious, except to those who cling to their bitterness.

If pointing out the truth is bitterness then mark me bitter.

Aside: When I heard about this new forum, I had some small hopes. Oh well.

Back on topic:
Maybe some group could re-open the Magdalene Laundries. Don't suppose they would have to be Catholic.

Alternatively, send Hephzibah House a few million so they can expand, then such sinners can be sent away.

We all know ::) that the only sin that matters is sexual sin, but even that only matters under certain circumstances - mostly involving an enlarging belly.

YOU are the sucker, and the idiot.

Apparently he wrote that for his own sensationialism. And likewise you post for YOUR own stance of how women dress and conduct their lives? How would anyone with the Spirit of Christ in their life want to write a sermon or an article on seeing someone walk across a stage and condemn them so quickly in that manner?

How did he know if that girl was not raped, yet instead of getting an abortion, decided to go on. Period. With the babies life. AND....finish highschool. And thus the applaud from the audience. Yet the moron who wrote that crap thinks HE is God and can pronounce judgement upon that girl simply because he see's a pregnant woman walk across a stage. How SAD is THAT?

I guess we can say with certainty that Alayman's church and Ravi Zacharuius' church does not have this verse in their bible:
"Jhn 8:10  When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
Jhn 8:11  She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. "

I'm wondering what in the quote from the raving evangelical was offensive or controversial.
Teen pregnancy affects all churches of all stripes.
We have long supported crisis pregnancy centers, in fact our church started one in the 80's.
Zacharias was right on IMHO.

Peggy Noonan? To quote Lt. Uhura, "Sorry, neither."

Yes, Zacharias is a sensationalist.  Again, you prove what an absolute cretin you are.  Absolutely a theological nimrod.

Maybe because our society has lost the ability to express shame, and blush?  duh  Instead, moral decadence is celebrated.  But perhaps you're a Lady Gaga fan who just loves "Born This Way".  Wouldn't surprise me a bit.

Reading comprehension is your friend.  The warning in the OP wasn't nearly pointed at the girl for making a mistake as much as it was for society for applauding out of wedlock pregnancy.  If you think that the 60's and 70's weren't typified by such a feminist revolt then you're really a bigger idiot than I originally thought.
