I believe this is a good New Testament example of faith promise giving the way God planned it.
1Co 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
This money was going the the opposite direction compared to money collected in our day.
How could we have gotten it so backwards in 2,000 years?
I would lay it out for you verse by verse but I'm sorry I just do not give this forum that much time.
If you notice at best I do small talk and small comments here and there.
Not to worry, most of us have heard it laid out already.
We just got a baggie, a scooper, and some gloves, to clean up afterwards.
IF Faith Promise is wrong or tithing I believe if a persons heart is in the right place, the Lord sees this and blesses that person because of their heart.
Now, if a person does not believe this and does not participate and their heart is in the right place the Lord will bless them as well.
Give and it shall be given unto you.
Ok, so give.
But here is a commandment:
Jam 5:12
12 But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath:but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
How many times, and how many ways, do you have to hear God tell us not to make promises, before you understand that "Faith Promise" is ungodly?
