I am not sure about any new ones. Craig Bosje was moved from "his calling" as a missionary in Thailand to be on staff at hac and maybe fbc. He is supposed to be a finance guy and they are hurting BIG TIME as far as finances go.

Is this supposed to be Mark Bosje? or is Craig his son?

Mark Bosje (sp?) is now on staff as a financial expert. He has been teaching on Wednesday nights about finances. He has a book available for sale on Amazon. He mentions it over and over as he teaches on finances on Wednesday nights...
Mark Bosje was lamenting the idolatry he found prevalent in Thailand while a missionary there. And it IS lamentable; people who think they need to appease their god by bowing a certain number of times, offering this or that, etc. But then, as he teaches on Wednesdays, Mark Bosje constantly uses admonishing statements such as, "We want God on our side", " We want God to be happy with us", or "We don't want God to be angry with us" as he tells us how to manage our finances. Isn't that really the same view of God that the lost idolaters have?

Yup! And just like Hetterman, they feel that somehow you can work your way into sanctification and God's favor. Actually, they probably think that we could usher in the kingdom with enough good works. But, they won't admit it.

In 1 of the videos on the old FFF that JS hated being posted of his so-called preaching, he too made such a statement along the lines of......."My job as the pastor of FBCH is to keep God happy with us so we can have His blessings." It's hard to stomach that he was the guy saying this, but it fits with what that Wed PM speaker is espousing.

What does hurting BIG TIME mean?  Looking at some of their weekly bulletins, they seem to be meeting budget with some faith promise thrown in as a slush fund.    Is this the college or the other schools?

I guarantee you that I heard someone bring that up more than once, while I was there.

Strait out of RCC Dogma.

I think Schaap taught that.

Makes me wonder if these guys all had abusive parents, since they are only comfortable with the idea of a Father God who despises them, and seeks occaison against them

I was basically speaking of the other schools. I hear from time to time however, that the college is also quite short of funds.

With only 500 or so students there, I can understand why. :(

What is this "Faith Promise" I keep hearing about?

I don't know the financial condition of the church, but according to the bulletin in which they print the weekly offering, they make budget almost every week.

There is a voluntary offering for incidental repairs that need to be made, that is listed as well.

And Faith Promise is the amount members have, by faith, pledged to give each week in support of missionaries. The missionary budget is made on the basis of this faith promise. This offering is also posted in the weekly bulletin.

I have heard the rumblings of there being money problems in the schools, which probably is not at all uncommon in any type of school situation - public or private.

Besides a direct violation of Scripture, on several levels?

It is basically a system where you promise to have faith , and pledge  to regularly give a certain amount of $, to someone who no longer has to have faith, because they now have sight (your pledge).

They'll make it sound "spiritual",
Like "pray about what number God wants you to pledge" ( same God who told us over and over not to make earthly promises, and in James said "above all don't ").

Then they'll ask you to commit to an annual amount.

Then, every year, they'll "teach" on finances (mostly RCC Replacement Theology) for a few weeks before pledge renewal day.

It is set up like a pyramid scheme seminar.

Testimonies of those who have had success ( usually by a conman like Thom Kimmel), mixed with threats by arrogant Morons like Larry Smith, and psychological pressure will be applied from every side.
Truth will be mixed with error.

Then you'll be asked to up your ante for the coming year.

Get ready...

Are you hinting that Mark Bosje is the replacement for convicted conman Kimmel?

Mark is hawking a book with incredibly bad Biblical exegesis to support his prosperity gospel. If you give to God he will give to you. The more you give the more God will give you. He then gives antidotal evidence of God's blessings.

I have never been able to bring myself to contribute to the Faith Promise system as it seems to be built on a miss-understanding of Biblical truth. They get you to sign your name on a card and then bludgeon you over the head with it.

Mark may not be selling nothing, he's hawking worthless books.
Least that is legal.
Course, our Creator may not be too fond of it.

I have participated in Faith Promise all of my adult life, and have never been asked to put my name to anything.

Same here.  I have been involved in 2 churches where it totally revolutionized the mission's program.  I'm sure it is all about how it is presented.

At FBCH every year we have about a month of Faith Promise Promotion culminating in turning in your pledge card upon which your Promised Giving amount is shown (for budgeting purposes) on the half you keep you sign your name on the bottom line and post it on your refrigerator as a daily reminder to honor your pledge. I have always looked at this as a no faith promise based on sight.

On this we agree.

It seems to be quite the fund raising campaign for missions.
