Can a Christian be a Democrat?

At least the DEMON-crats are honest and faithful in their hatred and contempt towards God, his people, and anything that exemplifies righteous and godly moral values. IOW, there is no question where you stand with them!

REPUGNANT-icans say all of the right things that we want to hear and we THINK they represent us! Just as the Democrats exploit the left, the Republicans exploit those on the right.

I think we have done a great disservice to the cause of Christ allowing his Church to become politicized and nationalized! Judgment is coming.
 
Can a Christian be a Democrat is relative to what you mean by ‘being a Democrat’.
Many beliefs and policy statements of the Democrat Party are in opposition to Biblical principle…so you can take it from there.

I also have problems with the Republican Party and politicians.
As has been stated many, many, many times before - It usually comes down to…wait for it…
the lesser of 2 evils.

No amount of blather, saying the same things different ways, telling us what you read on social media or anything else will change that reality.

I know many Democrats who don't hold to much of the platform...grow up, get real, and remove head from bottom...then get honest...I know it's hard, but, I believe if you try you might actually be able to do it.

The policies of Democrats these days are the policies of Sodom, and are hostile to liberty and justice, and therefore to Christianity in particular.

Supporting their platforms is like reporting Christians to Saul of Tarsus.

So no. No Christian, unless he's an utter fool, can in good conscience, to borrow the wording of the OP, be a Democrat.
 
I grew up in the segregated South. Racial and religious politics were prominent in the 50's and 60's. After the great depression, my grandparents never voted for a Republican again. When Kennedy ran in 1960 the fact that he was a Catholic was a very big deal in my region. He was denounced from the pulpit because of his religion. I remember vividly when Kennedy got shot as I was sitting in my fifth grade class many of the students started clapping when hearing the news. It was probably a combination of Kennedy being a Catholic and the turmoil of the civil rights marches taking place at that time, but those things were front and center in the South. Politics has always been messy and voting for Republican or Democrat has always been a matter of conscience. However, with the radicalization of the Democrat party today it is hard to justify endorsing its candidates. While I believe it is possible for a Christian to be a Democrat, I believe what Matt Walsh said has a ring of truth to it.

"Vote for us so that we can castrate children, use your money to pay for abortions, and put pornography in the schools. If you don't vote for us then you are a Nazi and democracy will die."

I know a few men who claim Christ and are republicans. But once you get to know them you see that the lost unregenerate men I work with treat you much better.

I’m sorry, but my experience tells me lost men are more Christ like than the men I’ve interacted with at church.

Are they obsessed with porn stars and who Donald Trump slept with? Many men who claim to know Christ are Christians in name only. Who ever said everyone who claims to be a Republican is a Christian? The difference between Trump and Biden are their policies on how the country is run. If you think Trump is no better than Biden why even argue about it?

To clarify, treatment meaning, something uncomfortable happens, a small tragedy and those lost men and wives actually offer help and follow thru, things like that.

Please, don’t misunderstand me, they’re not rude. Being involved in ur life, making a phone call to check in on whatever the situation is, no not gonna happen. BUUUUUUT, at church, hey I mean it’s a lot of, hey my brother good to see you (insert big Christ like smile) hey man I’m praying for you. -Slap on the back- and that’s it, you have the extent of Christian involvement. This is our experience at any and all churches we’ve attended. IFB or not. If you do not make the effort there is nothing.

At some point you say to ur spouse, are we the only ones reaching out? And then you stop and hear nothing.

Men’s breakfast, same thing LOL it’s all a joke. “Hey my brother good to see you, I’m so so so glad you’re here -slap on the back- praying for ya.

If ur lucky you got family. Church family, yeah ok whatever

You need to get connected with a spiritual body of believers. They're out there. Quit hanging out with the ones you currently do. They're causing you to lump everyone else into the same group.

Kinda rambling.

Everyone has different experiences in life.

Every church I have been a member of was also church family. People offer to meet a need if they find out about it. They were always encouraging, always there to help or give advice.

Maybe it's your choice of churches or maybe your more difficult to help than others.
