Socialism in the church.

Tell me more about this Roger Magnuson guy. Was he IFB? What about him was the reason for this great influence on you?

I'm not a fan of Chappell but probably for different reasons as you. If MacArthur is using rock music, that is news to me! He is very critical of the usual suspects of modern worship. not familiar with his song service but I see he uses orchestral instruments and congregational singing is stressed. Most of the IFB types I know of would object to his Calvinism and his so-called "Lordship Salvation." I think everyone owes him a debt of gratitude for his stand during the Plan-demic.

I am completely at a loss to name anyone David Cloud actually agrees with! Does he even agree with himself?

Some pictures from the web site of Roger Magnuson's Straitgate Church in Minneapolis. (Roger Magnuson is now with the Lord - his son Peter Magnuson is now the pastor). The women are no longer covering their heads with head scarves. I sure hope that does not mean that the church has gone feminist and socialist, or is no longer walking in the "Old Paths."

AAs rhetoric should be plain as the nose on pinocchio's face, just take a look at the world going to hell in a hand basket around you. Can't you follow simple reasoning? You wouldn't know a motis tallens from a moadus paulens. Ever thought about actually believing the Bible and what it says about the world? You either believe it or you're one of them, and I'm not sure right now if you ain't one of them tares among the wheat. I'll pray for you, but in the meantime, good luck with getting anybody with a Biblical bone in their body to pay you any mind, including me. This place is just full of bitter critics and losers.

I know he likes to attack anyone who disagrees with his warped takes on the Bible and many other subjects. He's happy to damn other mens relationships with God, and to condemn their ministries, while putting his own on a pedestal for worship. I had to quit listening to him, reading him, and even considering what he said over 20 years ago.

Some of us have been around for almost 20 years and we come because of the fight. What fun is it to show up and agree on everything. The fight make us better. You have to be specific and have details to prove your thesis. You have to be ready to defend your position. Some here may agree completely with a given opinion and will still argue with you to see if you really mean what you are saying. They will also look to see the basis of what you are stating.

Don't be general, be specific in your position and be ready to defend it. This is not a place for the faint of heart, they will eat you alive.
 
AA please list 3 ways you think churches have become socialist? Remember for generations the churches were the source of most charity. Remember in the United States before 1933 almost every social program was run by churches or wealthy benefactors, not government.

As I remember the tenets of socialism are:

Classless Society
State owned industry and infrastructure.
Equal opportunity and rights for all
Government control of all aspects of the economy
Enpowerment of the working class and elimination of poor

Which ones have crept into the church.

Agape Antipas, you have criticized all of us for not raising an "outcry" and a hullabaloo against unnamed IFB churches in California and Kansas that are allegedly promoting socialism and feminism. If you are looking for a forum where the participants are ready to get their undies in a bunch about such carryings on, well, you have come to the right place. But so far you have provided absolutely no documentation to show that this is taking place. We look forward to you providing factual documentation to substantiate your allegations. Inquiring minds want to know. Don't keep us on the edge of our seats, waiting. Document your thesis.
